RRB ALP 2018 Medical Test – All you need to know

RRB ALP 2018 exam is a great opportunity to ensure a secure permanent job with the railways. The RRB ALP exam will have 4 stages in total. The first 3 stages are online exam’s and when all the exams are cleared the candidate needs to undergo a medical test to confirm his/her Job posting. This medical test is called the RRB ALP Medical Test.

Medical Standards for RRB ALP Medical Test:

4 C-1 Physically Fit in all Respects Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses. Near Vision: Sn: 0.6, 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.

The above standards are not exhaustive, just indicative, applying to all candidates. For further details Chapter 5 of Indian Railway Medical Manual Vol.1 will need to be referred.

RRB ALP Medical Test – General Physical Examination Standards

The following table gives the details of the physical standards required for all the Railway Posts.

RRB ALP Medical Test – General Physical Examination Tests

  1. Urine Sample Collection – It is like a routine check-up.
  1. Sharp sensibility Check-up Test of Nose-Ear-Mouth and Teeth.
  1. Blood Test:This is to check haemoglobin, STD, any other such diseases and CBC Report. 
  1. Physical Body Check:Candidate’s B.P, balanced weight and height, BMI calculation and whole body is examined under this test. 
  1. X-Ray of Chest:This test is not done for female candidates as they do not have any chest criteria
  1. Hand Movement Test:Candidates are required to have efficient movement of hands and perfect hand carrying angles.
  2. Varicose Veins: These veins are found from feet to stomach. these are responsible for Varicocle.
  1. Arms:Arms should be proper movable.
  1. Hydroceleand also piles problem should not be there.
  1. Backbone: Your backbone should be in proper and straighten up order.

RRB ALP Medical Test – Vision Acuity Tests

Acuity of vision: – The standards of visual acuity for the above categories will be as follows:-

Note:-(i) In respect of technical services, the total amount of myopia (including cylinder) should not exceed -4 Dioptres and the total amount of Hypermetropia should not exceed +4 Dioptre.

RRB ALP Medical Tests – Vision Tests

(a) Eye Test:

It will be a complete eye check-up and will include tests like Near sight vision, Far Sight Vision, Binocular vision and Irish Check.

Candidates cannot use lenses on the day of the exam as the officials will check for them by rubbing the eyes.

The candidate should possess high colour vision and must not have squint in eyes.

(b) Lasik Surgery: Candidates undergone Lasik surgery are disqualified in medical exam.

(c) Colour Blindness Test: Candidates would be asked to read numbers in a colour dotted Book to check for colour blindness.
