IBPS PO Bank Exam 2018: Exam Fees, Pattern and Syllabus

In this article refer to 2018 IBPS PO bank exam fees, exam patterns and syllabus. IBPS or Institute of Banking Personnel Selection is an autonomous body, which holds both clerical and officer level examination every year. The examination is commonly known as Common Written Examination (CWE). It is a common entrance examination for Probationary Officer in various public sector banks. This means you can be posted anywhere in India. However, you are generally posted in a bank in your preferred location.

Each year IBPS holds PO (Probationary Officer) examination that sees a high number of applications. The announcement for IBPS PO 2018 has not been made yet but tentatively, the announcement for IBPS Bank PO can be expected in August 2018 with prelims in October and mains in November 2018 respectively. However, you need to familiarize with the exam pattern and syllabus. The IBPS PO exam 2018 is divided into three phases.

  • Phase I- Prelims (Objective)
  • Phase II- Mains (Objective and Subjective)
  • Phase III- Interview

Based on 2017 IBPS PO examination, the duration for prelims is around 60 minutes.

The IBPS officer 2018 mains examination also has a subjective section that tests your writing and language skills in English. The time for this test is set at 30 minutes. Moreover, the objective questions carry negative marking if answered incorrectly. For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks are deducted. If you clear Phase I (Prelims) and then Phase II (Mains), you go to the interview round that is also marked at 100. Based on 2017 IBPS bank PO cut-offs minimum qualification for General candidates is 40 percent and for reserved candidates is at 35 percent.
