To score good marks in the IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) examinations, one needs to be fast as well as reasonably accurate. Guesswork should be eliminated as far as possible because negative marking can determine the outcome of the exam if it goes too far.

Candidates may note that except 4(a) English Language, they can choose to take all the other section tests in either Hindi or English as per their preference. Also, they can choose either 4(a) or 4(b) depending on their language proficiency. Additionally, both IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Prelims and IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Mains have negative marking wherein 25% of the marks allotted to a question would be deducted for every wrong answer to the same; candidates need to clear sectional cut-offs in the IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Prelims to qualify for the Mains exam.

Hence, IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) recruitment examinations are obviously tougher than that of IBPS RRB Office Assistant 2018 recruitment.

IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Job Profile

The job profile of an IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) is not unlike that of other POs at various banks. However, the main difference is that they will be working to serve the rural populations of the country while SBI and IBPS POs are mostly stationed in towns and cities and therefore they will be catering to the needs of the city populations. Aside from that there are no major differences or extraordinary factors to consider in the IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Job Profile.   1. An IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) would be mainly responsible for supervising the work of IBPS RRB Office Assistants. Any kind of record keeping that has been initially done by an IBPS RRB Office Assistant will have to be verified or authenticated by an IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I).
  2. The IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Job Profile has to do mainly with focus on extension and recovery of credit facilities on behalf of the bank. They will be required to sanction extension of loans and this is only possible by an Officer because it is beyond the scope of responsibilities of an IBPS RRB Office Assistant.
  3. The IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Job Profile also includes the monitoring of credit portfolios. As previously mentioned, they would be the ones deciding on and managing to whom the bank lends money, when, and how much.
  4. In the various responsibilities and duties of the IBPS RRB Officer (Scale-I) Job Profile, the most important responsibility is to however prepare audit reports of the bank’s activities and ensure that no frauds are taking place at any point of time.
