After the Examination process has been completed, the tentative OPSC Civil Services Answer Key will be released.  The answer key serves several purposes.  It can be used by the candidates to calculate what marks they could expect in the Examination.  It also provides an opportunity for scrutiny by many eyes in case any of the answers provided in the Answer Key is wrong.  Any candidate who feels that an Answer in the Answer Key is wrong can raise an objection.  If the objection is found to be correct, the Answer Key will be modified, else the objection will be rejected.

The OPSC Preliminary examination Answer key 2021 will be released on the official website after the process of examination is over. The release of the Answer Key provides transparency to the Examination process. The answer key is released for the candidates to check/ evaluate their performance in the examination.

Step 3: The Answer Sheet page will open.

Step 4: For your selected subject, select the set you had answered (A, B, C, D) and check its Answer Key.

Calculation Of OPSC Preliminary Marks From The Answer Key

Candidates can follow the steps mentioned to calculate their estimated scores with the help of the Answer Key. 

Step 1: Marks secured by candidates in Preliminary Paper 1 and 2 = total number of the correct answers X marks allotted to each question.

Step 2: Total number of wrong answers X marks deducted for each wrong answer

Step 3: Deduct the sum of Step 2 from Step 1. The remaining is the estimated score. 

(OPSC OAS Paper 1 has 100 questions and each question is for 2 marks

(OPSC OAS Paper 2 has 80 questions and each question is for 12.5 marks)

Total Marks of the Preliminary examination = score of Paper I score of Paper-II.

Negative marking is applicable. For every wrong answer, a 0.25 mark will be deducted. The Odisha Civil Services Preliminary Examination General Studies Paper 2 will be qualifying in nature with the minimum qualifying mark being 33 per cent. 

Challenging OPSC Civil Services Answer Key

The provisional/ preliminary/ tentative OPSC Civil Services Answer Key is released initially by the Commission on its official website. This answer key is available to all the candidates for their perusal.  Candidates can use this key to calculate the marks that they could expect in the written examination.  In case a candidate feels that an answer to any of the questions is incorrect, they have the right to raise an object to that question.   An objection can be raised by a candidate to multiple answers in the answer key.  The objection will need to be submitted to the examination board’s official website. Along with the objection, the documents that support the claim must also be submitted to the official website of the Examination Board. The board scrutinizes all the objections.  Those objections that are found to be valid are incorporated in the final answer sheet and the others are rejected. In this regard, the decision of the board is final.

The final OPSC answer key will be released after considering all the complaints. The merit list will be announced only after the final marks of the candidates have been released.

Important Points:

• The candidates can raise an objection to the answer key within seven days of the release of the same.
• Candidates must have relevant papers to support their objections.
• The commission will not entertain an incomplete objection.
• The objections must be submitted in English.

The OPSC Civil Services Answer Key is released based on the paper Code Wise and Set that was provided to the candidate at the time of the Examination. The candidates can use the answer key to evaluate their own performance in the Examination. Initially, a provisional answer key is published and this is followed by the final answer key, post the scrutiny of the raised objections. All decisions for the objections that have been raised will be taken by the board and their decisions will be considered to be final.
