On August 10, 2021, the Prime Minister launched Ujjwala 2.0 from Mahoba District, Uttar Pradesh. This initiative aims to provide one crore more LPG connections to women from poor households under PMUY, with each connection receiving Rs. 1600 in support.

Some new features of Ujjwala 2.0 include online application on pmuy.gov.in, acceptance of self-declaration from migrants, and free first refill and stove. The target of one crore connections was achieved on January 31, 2022, and an additional 60 lakh connections were decided to be released.

Considering the demand, the government has approved 75 lakh more deposit-free connections under Ujjwala 2.0, with each connection receiving Rs. 2200 in support, along with a free first refill and stove.

PM Ujjwala 2.0 Apply Online

Step 1: Visit the official website at pmuy.gov.in.

Step 2: Choose the option to apply for a New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection.

Step 3: Scroll down and click on the Online Portal. Then, select the LPG distribution company name, such as Indane, Bharatgas, or HP Gas.

Step 4: Click on Register Now for the selected LPG distribution company.

Step 5: Opt for the type of Connection, like Ujjwala 2.0 New Connection.

Step 6: Provide details like State, District, Pin Code, and Name of the Distributor. Enter your Mobile Number, Captcha, and OTP.

Step 7: Select the type of KYC, either New KYC or Normal KYC.

Step 8: Indicate whether you belong to a Migrant Family with YES or NO.

Step 9: If the family Identifier is NO, fill in Annexure 1.

Step 10: If the family Identifier is YES, fill in details from your Ration Card.

Step 11: Complete all Family Details, Personal details, address details, bank details, Choose Cylinder Types, Select rural or urban, and confirm the declaration before submitting.

Step 12: Generate the Reference number and Print your applied form. Attach all the documents you submitted online and visit the selected Gas agency.

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana Documents Required

• Know Your Customer (KYC)
• Aadhaar Card of the applicant serves as Proof of Identity and Proof of Address if residing at the same address as mentioned in Aadhaar (not mandatory for Assam and Meghalaya).
• Ration Card issued by the State from which the application is being made, or other State Government document certifying family composition, or Self-Declaration as per Annexure I (for migrant applicants).
