Apart from the Salary mentioned above, the Judges are also entitled to various perks and benefits as below:

1. Residence: The Judges are provided residence earmarked for them and also sufficient funds are allotted towards the maintenance of the same. They are provided with a furniture grant.
2. Conveyance Facility: Sedan cars are provided to various officers as per their cadre for conveyance to different places. They are also provided with a fuel allowance, or a loan facility to purchase a vehicle in their name.
3. Security: Judges of all types are provided home guards without guns for their security purposes. The judges trying Criminal cases are provided with armed guards for extra concerns.
4. Water and Electricity Charges: The Civil Judges are granted electricity up to 6000 units per year and the District judge, up to 8000 units per year. Also, Water charges are granted up to 336 Kls/year and 420 Kls per year respectively.
5. Children Education Allowance: At the cost of the government, children’s education allowance is made available to the judges at Rs. 2250 per month for education and Rs. 6750 per month as a hostel subsidy or the actual expense, subject to a minimum of the two.
6. House Construction Allowance: Advance is granted to judicial officers for construction of a new house, or purchase of land, or renovation of the current house.
7. Medical Allowance: A medical Allowance of Rs. 3000/- per month is granted to all judicial officers. Also, any medical expenses incurred for their family members are reimbursed to them.

Rajasthan Judiciary Job Profile

The responsibilities of Judges in India are defined by the Constitution. Individual basic functions of the judges remain the same for all judges. However, what differs, is the jurisdiction. Following are the basic functions included in the Rajasthan Judiciary Job Profile

• The determination of whether evidence can be accepted.
• Authority to write decree. 
• Authority to examine the witnesses.
• Authorized to give instructions to the jury.
• Note the allegations of the defensive and prosecuting parties.
• Authorized to determine liability or damages in respect of Civil cases.
• Authority to determine the guilt or innocence of criminal defendants and impose sentences if found guilty, in respect of criminal cases.
• Inform the defendants about their constitutional rights.
• Responsible for interpretation of the law. 
• They interpret and apply laws to conclude the judgments.
• Responsible to resolve the disputes between parties.
• Provide instructions to juniors on how to consider facts from the evidence presented in trials
• They are responsible to read and evaluate information from motions, claim applications, records, and other documents
• The judges write their opinions, verdicts, and instructions regarding cases, claims, and disputes
• Presiding over hearings and read arguments
• The judges are responsible to take part in clearance or plea consultations in advance of trial
• They conduct initial proceedings in criminal cases
• They are responsible to accept and approve the search and arrest warrants

Powers of a High Court Judge

The High Courts are presided by the Chief Justice. Following are the powers of the Rajasthan High Court Judge.

• Issue Directions and writs for restoration of fundamental rights and these cannot be curtailed.
• Judging the validity of the Central and State laws
• Power of superintendence over all the lower courts and tribunals within its jurisdiction.
• Take up cases pending in the subordinate courts involving a question of Constitutional law.
• Control over the sub-ordinate courts. Appointment, postings, promotions of the District Judges are done in consultation with the Governor.
• Acts as a court of record.
• Power to frame required rules for judiciary functions.
• Power to punish for contempt of the law.
• Handle appellate jurisdiction of both civil and criminal nature.

Powers of Subordinate Court Judge

The Subordinate Courts are presided by the District and Civil Judges. The District Judge or the Civil Judge preside over civil cases. Whereas, the Magistrate or the Session Judges preside over Criminal Cases. Their functions are as below:

• Empowered to control the subordinate courts belonging to the said district.
• Conduct Original and Appellate jurisdiction in all civil and criminal cases at the district level.
