The notification for recruitment in the highly esteemed Reserve Bank of India to the post of RBI Grade B Officer has recently been released. Eligible candidates will be recruited through a national level online examination. The examination is conducted in phases- the Preliminary and the Mains, followed by an interview round.

Both the Prelims and the Mains stages of RBI Grade B Officer exam are divided into different sections. One subject that remains constant in both these phases is the ‘English Language’. The English Language section covers basic grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, sentence framing, and also descriptive letter writing/essay writing.

RBI Grade B Officer Exam Guide (English)

The Prelims comprises of 30 marks in the English section, while full marks allotted to English in the Main exam is 100. The pattern of questions in the Main phase is descriptive.
