SSC CHSL exam pattern 2023 – Tier 1:
The first phase of the SSC CHSL exam known as tier 1. The SSC CHSL application form 2023 must be submitted successfully for candidates to be allowed to sit for the exam with a valid admit card. The SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam administered online using a computer.
Candidates who pass tier 1 of the SSC CHSL are eligible to take the tier 2 exam, which has two sessions.
There are three sections with two modules each in the Tier II of the SSC CHSL.
Session 1 and Session 2 of the SSC CHSL Tier-II exam will take place on the same day and each will last for two hours. The administration of Sections I, II, and Module I of Section III will take place in Session I, and Module II of Section III (the skill test and typing test) will be administered in Session II.
- Except for the following, the SSC CHSL Tier-II will only include Objective Type, Multiple Choice Questions.
- With the exception of Module II (the English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II, all questions in Module II of Section III will be in English and Hindi.
- For each incorrect response in Sections I, II, and Module I of Section III, there will be a -1 mark deduction.
- Section III, Module I, i.e. the computer knowledge test not only required but also qualifying.
- Module-II of Section-III i.e. SSC CHSL Skill Test/ Typing Test: SSC CHSL Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature. The SSC CHSL skill test will calculate errors to a maximum of two decimal places.

Things You Must Know about SSC CHSL skill test:
Part A : Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade ‘A’ – Data entry speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) key depressions per hour on a computer is required for DEO/DEO Grade “A” candidates. Part A: The skill test is required, and candidates will be judged on how accurately they entered the words and key depressions for the passage that was provided. The test will last 15 (Fifteen) minutes, and each candidate will receive printed English material with between 2000 and 2200 key depressions to enter into a computer.
Part B: Typing Test is for other posts including LDC/ JSA – The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. Candidates should be able to type at least 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) in English and 30 w.p.m. in Hindi, depending on which language they choose to study (w.p.m.). Approximately 10500 key depressions per hour and 9000 key depressions per hour, respectively, calculated from 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m.

Tips to Crack SSC CHSL skill test/typing test:
1. Watch YouTube tutorials to pick up quick typing techniques. You will be guided by these tutorials through all the hints and step-by-step explanations of what the actual exam would entail.
2. To easily pass the typing test, practice typing on the keyboard of your PC or laptop every day. Regular typing will teach you exactly where each key on the keyboard is located. Additionally, regular typing allows you to type quickly and easily without ever looking at the keyboard. Your speed will increase by at least 30 to 40% as compared to before.
3. Practice typing on the internet in a timed manner. Set a timer and see where you stand. Work on strengthening any areas where you feel weak.
4. The SSC CHSL skill test only permits a certain number of errors, so when you’re practicing, your main goal should be to maintain 90% accuracy in terms of spelling, punctuation, and other elements.
5. Examine your errors and work to make improvements.
6. Although the exam requires you to type at a speed of 35 words per minute, you should aim for 40 to 45. You will undoubtedly arrive at the answer given in the exam if you start with 40 to 45.
7. Practice is the most important factor in passing a skill-based exam.
