SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2024
The SSC GD Application Process 2024 started on 24th November 2023 for the eligible candidates. To be eligible, candidates must fulfill certain requirements such as age limits, educational qualifications, and physical standards. Meeting these criteria is essential for individuals aspiring to join the SSC as a GD Constable. In this blog, we will brief you on the details of the SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2024.
SSC GD Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who wish to appear for the exam must fulfill the eligibility criteria as follows:
Minimum Education Qualifications
Candidates willing to appear for the SSC GD Constable Exam must have passed Class 10th or any other equivalent exam. Those who have not cleared Class X remain ineligible for this exam. Candidates appearing for their Class X exam are also not eligible for the SSC GD Constable Exam.
Nationality
Applying candidates must be of Indian Nationality.
Age Limit
The candidate is required to be between 18 to 23 years old in order to be eligible for SSC GD 2024 Exam. Candidates should not have been born earlier than 02-01-2001 and later than 01-01-2006 in normal course.
Age relaxation is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the government rules.

- Children and dependents of victims killed in the 1984 riots or communal riots of 2002 in Gujarat (SC/ ST)- This category gets an age relaxation of 10 years.
SSC GD Physical Standards
For Male & Female Candidate
If you wish to apply for the Constable General Duty post, it is important to meet the required physical standards and measurements. There are 2 types of Staff Selection Commission General Duty Constable Physical tests. The PET and the PST. The candidate has to clear both these tests to move ahead in the recruitment process:
Height for Male Candidate: 170 cm
Height for Female Candidate: 157 cm

Chest:
The male candidates should have the following standards Of Chest measurement.
- Un-expanded: 80 cms
- Minimum expansion: 5 cms
Relaxation for Chest measurement for the reserved categories is as under:

The SSC will not take chest measurements for Female candidates.

Proportionate to the height & age as per the medical standards.
Physical Efficiency Test
Candidates have to clear the race within the following time limits:
