“It’s Never Too Late And You’re Never Too Old To Become Better.” says Senthil, who never gave up on his dreams and cleared SBI PO in his second attempt. Read the Success Story of Senthil Kumar K below:
“My Journey of Banking Exams started in 2016 after finishing my M.B.A with majors in Finance and minors in Marketing. I got this phenomenal breakthrough in my 2nd attempt. Before I proceed and tell about my preparation strategy. I would like to shed some light on my past. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication & graduated in 2010. After the completion of my Bachelor’s degree, I worked as a Testing Engineer for almost 3 years. After working for 3 years I realised this is not something which I would like to do throughout my life. Hence, I quit my job and started preparing for Management Exams. In 2014, I started my journey at B-School and finished in 2016 with a job from an Insurance Sector. But due to some unfortunate reasons, they didn’t release my offer letter and I found myself nowhere. During this time I decided to take up the banking exams.
Due to my M.B.A preparation, I was confident enough to have a smooth sailing in these exams as I already knew what topic to prepare and what topic to leave. I started my preparation with Arun Sharma and with my T.I.M.E books which I used during my M.B.A preparation. I just brushed up my faded concepts in Mathematics and Reasoning and then I took straight dive into appearing for the Mock Tests.
I would say, once you are done with the basics, directly start with taking Mock tests as these mock test acts like a mirror and show you a real picture of your preparation. Here, I feel Oliveboard is the best, as these tests prepare you for the worst. Needless to say, Oliveboard has a great blend of questions with at par difficulty level, if compared to any banking exams.
For English, I was only dependent upon “The Hindu” and “Times of India”. If anyone wants to ace English, I would recommend please read more number of articles and increase your comprehension skills as this can only fetch you maximum marks & ensure you are taking notes of all the words which you do not know as this will help you in increasing your word power.
For General Awareness, I used capsules and other online resources and periodical quiz mock tests.
For the Interview, I would say just be confident, be yourself and most importantly do not lie as it can backfire. Before appearing for an interview please ensure you are thorough with the current affairs of at least past 6 months. If you are working make sure you know in and out about your job. Please take a look of Constitution of India, I know it’s funny but my interview revolved around Constitution of India. So, I would suggest please glance it once before appearing for the final interview.
Hope this helps!
