‘To change your life, you need to change your priorities’ says- Uttam, who cleared multiple banking and insurance exams in the year 2017. Read his detailed Success strategy of Uttam Mishra below:
“Hello Everyone, I am Uttam Sharma, currently working as a Probationary Officer at Baroda Rajasthan Kshetriya Gramin Bank. I have cleared RRB PO, RRB Clerk, IBPS Clerk and NIACL Assistant in the year 2017.
Before proceeding further here’s something about me. I am a Computer Science graduate, who passed out in 2014. After graduation, I worked as an Assistant Manager in a private organisation for almost 2 years. But left my private job in pursuit of government job in the year 2016.
I still remember when I started my preparation I wasn’t able to attempt maximum questions. At that point in time, Oliveboard helped me by providing fantastic test series which helped me push my limits and increase my speed by developing a deep understanding for all of the sections. I remember I got one direct puzzle in RRB PO (Mains) exam which I solved in Oliveboard Mock tests and got 10 marks lead over other aspirants within a fraction of time. The one thing which I liked most about Oliveboard’s test series was the descriptive solution, they provide all possible solutions of a particular question, which really helps aspirants to choose the best method according to his/her choice.
For Mathematics, I started my preparation by solving basic questions and clearing my concepts through R.S Aggarwal and eventually increased the level of toughness based upon my understanding and expertise in a particular chapter. I also gave equal emphasis on Data Interpretation as well and dedicated a significant amount of time on it. These days the focus on data interpretation in the competitive exams have increased, therefore don’t ignore this part, as it can play a vital role in your selection.
For reasoning, during the initial stage, I followed books from Kiran Publication and then relied heavily on mock tests, as this section demands more practice, due to fewer concepts. If one wants to ace this section the only way out here is practice, practice and practice.
For English, I followed S.S.C English by A.K Singh in addition to regular newspaper reading. For vocabulary building, I relied on Lucent.
Now coming onto Interview, I would only say to be confident and don’t hesitate. The only thing panel check’s in a candidate is his/her confidence along with good presentation skills. If you can hone these skills, you can easily make it through the Interview. Take mock interviews, don’t hesitate and be bold!
