UP Police ASI Eligibility

It is important to know the UP Police ASI eligibility criteria for applying for the posts and all the criteria associated with the different stages of the recruitment. There are several stages associated with the recruitment process. They are as follows: 

Age Limit1. The candidates should be between the age of 21 – 28 years. 2. There is upper age relaxation that is provided to the candidates belonging to the SC, ST and other such category candidates as per the Govt. rules.
Educational Qualification1. The candidate should be a Graduate from any stream from UGC recognized University/Institute to be eligible for this recruitment.
2. The candidates applying for the post of Fire Officer can need to be a Science Graduate.
3. 30 WPM English Typing Speed or 25 WPM Hindi Typing Speed.
4. O Level Certificate in DOEACC/ NIELIT.
Nationality1. The candidates should be citizens of India. The Tibetan refugees who migrated to India before 1st January 1962 are also eligible.
Also, an Indian origin person settled permanently in India from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania is also eligible.

Areas/ Type of UP Police ASI Eligibility

There are different eligibility criteria that the board has set for the different stages of the recruitment process, and the candidates are advised that they must go through all the different types of eligibility criteria process before applying for the posts. The eligibility criteria for the UP Police ASI exam are the educational qualifications for sitting for the written examination, age limit, physical standard eligibility, physical ability, and typing speed.

UP Police ASI Eligibility – Age Limit

The foremost eligibility criteria for applying for the post of UP SI is age. 

In the case of direct recruitment, the candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as of the first day of July of the calendar year of the release of the notification for the UP ASI posts. 

Age Relaxation

There are various relaxations on the upper age limit of 28 years for applicants who belong to the SC, ST category, and other categories specified in Government rules.

Physical Standard Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for the post should be aware of the minimum physical measurement requirement, such as height and weight, that the board has set.  Every candidate who has applied for the post of UP SI will have to meet these requirements to qualify for the next stage in the recruitment process. For male applicants, a chest expansion of 5 cm is the minimum requirement.  The minimum weight of the Female candidates should be 40 kgs.

UP Police ASI Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

The candidate’s fitness is measured in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Each candidate has to clear a physical efficiency test.  This test is only of qualifying nature. It does not in any way affect the merit list or the final result. The Physical Efficiency Test measures the physical fitness of the candidate.

UP Police ASI Medical Test

Apart from the UP Police ASI eligibility criteria mentioned above, the candidate must ensure that they have good health for the post. To qualify for the post of UP SI and to be appointed to the post, a candidate has to have good physical and mental health. The candidate should not have any physical defects that can hinder the way of doing the duty for which the candidate has been appointed. 

To make sure that the candidate is in good health, several tests are conducted by the UP Police board, and the Medical Board examines the candidate.
