IBPS SO Exam 2017 : FAQs<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Will IBPS SO have sectional cutoffs, overall cutoffs or both?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n

The IBPS SO prelims exam will have sectional cutoffs and overall cutoffs. A candidate has to score a minimum number of marks in each section a well as in the overall paper to qualify for the next stage of selection. These marks are qualifying in nature. The minimum marks, i.e. the cutoffs (both sectional and overall) will be decided by IBPS itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Are there any sectional time limits?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n

As is shown in the image above, each section will have 50 questions of one mark each (except English Language). The total duration of the paper is 2 hours. However, there is no time restriction for individual sections. Depending upon your strengths and weaknesses, the order in which the sections have to be attempted can be decided.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There won’t be a pre-determined order of attempt of sections to be followed in the IBPS SO prelims 2017 exam. Candidates can choose the order based on their level of comfort with each section. It is advisable to begin with the section one is most comfortable in. This helps boost confidence and thus makes the overall performance better.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. Can we switch between various sections?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n

We can switch between two sections in the paper as no sectional time limits exist. However, it would be advisable to NOT go back and forth as it leads to a wastage of a lot of your precious time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. How to allocate time across various sections in IBPS SO prelims 2017?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n

The IBPS SO\u00a0Prelims 2017 are the\u00a0first prelims exam\u00a0<\/strong>which have a duration of\u00a0120 minutes<\/strong>. However, with all that time and no sectional time limits, it is imperative to have a proper time and exam attempt strategy to avoid getting carried away or wasting valuable time in the exam. 1) English Language:\u00a019 minutes<\/strong><\/span>
\n 2) Reasoning: 47\u00a0minutes<\/strong><\/span>

Q. What is the negative marking criteria in the exam?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n

In Prelims as well as in Mains examination in IBPS SO recruitment 2017, there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for wrong answers marked by the candidate. It means 0.25 (one-fourth) marks will be deducted for every wrong answer marked by the candidate in IBPS SO Prelims and Mains examination. However, there is no penalty if any question is left blank\/No answer marked by the candidate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Q. What all should we carry to the examination centre?<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h6>\n

Candidates have to produce, in original, the same photo identity proof bearing the name as it appears on the online application form\/ call letter and submit photocopy of the photo identity proof along with Examination call letter at the examination centre.<\/span><\/p>\n
