She was known for her significant contribution as the voice behind countdown announcements for rocket launches at Sriharikota.<\/strong> Her voice was last heard during the historic countdown announcement for the launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/blog\/chandrayaan-3-pragyan-rover-finds-sulphur-on-lunar-south-pole\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chandrayaan-3<\/a>, which successfully made a landing on the Moon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chandrayaan-3&#8217;s launch took place from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on July 14, and this marked her final countdown announcement. Valarmathi&#8217;s role in these countdowns symbolizes her important part in India&#8217;s space endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About N.Valarmathi<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>N. Valarmathi was an Indian scientist and project director of RISAT-1, India&#8217;s first indigenously developed radar imaging satellite. She was born on July 31, 1959, and died on September 3, 2023, at the age of 64.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Valarmathi&#8217;s Career<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Valarmathi joined the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in 1984. <\/li><li>She worked on a variety of projects, including the development of the INSAT satellite series and the PSLV launch vehicle. <\/li><li>She was the project director of RISAT-1, which was launched in 2012. <\/li><li>RISAT-1 is a radar imaging satellite that can be used for a variety of applications, including disaster management, agriculture, and border security.<\/li><li><strong>She was the first person to receive the\u00a0Abdul Kalam Award, instituted in 2015 by the Government of Tamil Nadu in honor of former President\u00a0Abdul Kalam.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Valarmathi&#8217;s death was a major loss to the Indian space program. She was a brilliant scientist and a dedicated engineer. She will be remembered for her contributions to the development of India&#8217;s space capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About Chandrayaan-3<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Chandrayaan-3 was launched on 14th July at 2:35 pm IST as scheduled, from Satish Dhawan Space Centre Second Launch Pad in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.
