The Vice-Chairpersons preside over the House in the absence of the Chairman. The Panel of Vice-Chairpersons is constituted at the beginning of each session of the Rajya Sabha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Functions of the Vice-Chairpersons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Presiding over the House in the absence of the Chairman<\/li><li>Admitting and putting questions to the vote<\/li><li>Maintaining order and decorum in the House<\/li><li>Deciding on points of order<\/li><li>Ruling on admissibility of motions and amendments<\/li><li>Granting leave for the introduction of bills and resolutions<\/li><li>Calling upon members to speak<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vice-Chairpersons play an important role in the functioning of the Rajya Sabha. They help to ensure that the business of the House is conducted in a smooth and efficient manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Panel of Vice-Chairpersons is a diverse group of members who represent different regions, parties, and ideological perspectives.
