During this visit, representatives from Union Bank and UCO Bank are expected to hold informal talks about a possible merger under the Banking Regulation Act of 1949 and other related laws. However, the Finance Ministry has clearly stated that there is no formal proposal for a merger between Bank of India and Bank of Maharashtra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the document is real, the Finance Ministry clarified that these discussions are just part of a general review and do not mean any bank merger is actually happening soon. So far, there is no official confirmation or approval from the government or other authorities regarding any such merger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry also made it clear that parliamentary committees do not decide on bank mergers, and any news about such plans should be seen as a rumour unless officially announced.
