This special day is all about appreciating the important ideas behind the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. We use this day to remember Henry Dunant, who started the International Committee of the Red Cross and was the first person to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Today, it&#8217;s even more important for different countries to work together and help each other, especially when things go wrong and people need help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Red Cross Movement believes that everyone has the power to make the world better. On May 8, we honor the millions of volunteers who promise to help others. These volunteers are like heroes, helping in many disasters with things like bandages, stretchers, blood donations, and tools for getting better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Focus on Health and Awareness<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day not only celebrates the idea of keeping peace but also helps people learn about staying healthy. During the celebration, there&#8217;s music and messages on TV to teach millions of people around the world about preventing and treating diseases like tuberculosis, H.I.V.\/AIDS, and malaria. Give Money to Help<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The best way to help is by giving money. Money can go a long way and help volunteers on the ground give things like first aid, food, and things for staying clean.
