Applicants who are eligible for the exam go for the WBPSC Selection process. The first stage is the Prelims exam which is qualifying in nature. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam, are allowed for the mains exam. Applicants, whoever fill the application form, are called for the Prelims exam. The prelims exam is conducted only for screening of the candidates for mains exam. The marks scored in this test are not added for the merit list. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WBPSC CCE First Stage: Prelims<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Preliminary Examination will be of a single paper called General Studies.<\/li><li>This paper will be objective type only. <\/li><li>There will be 200 multiple choice-type questions in the paper.<\/li><li>The prelims paper will carry 200 marks. <\/li><li>The time duration will be of 2 hours. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">WBCS Prelims Exam Pattern<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The prelims exam is the first stage of the West Bengal PSC CCE. Candidates who qualify the prelims exam, are eligible for the mains exam. Candidates who clear the mains cut-off, they get invited for the Interview. This test involves questions on broad interest topics, aiming to assess personal traits such as mental alertness, clear and rational communication, intellectual and moral integrity, leadership abilities, and a diverse range of interests.
