He succeeds Dilip Oommen, CEO of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Mineral_production_in_India_up_by_59_in_January\"><\/span>Mineral production in India up by 5.9% in January<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In a notable increase, the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) reported a 5.9% hike in the index of mineral production of the mining and quarrying sector for January 2024, with the index reaching 144.1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This rise comes in contrast to the level in January of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cumulative growth from April 2023 to January 2024 also stood at 8.3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Production of important minerals in January 2024 displayed significant variance with coal production at 998 lakh tonnes and crude petroleum at 25 lakh tonnes, the ministry added.
