The state posted a 78 per cent increase in exports from $5.37 billion in 2022-23 to $9.56 billion in 2023-24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023-24, Karnataka became the number two exporting state with $4.62 billion, contributing to 16 per cent of the national exports, followed by Uttar Pradesh with $4.46 billion worth of exports and 15 per cent of the national share. This is the first export order for the BrahMos missile developed by India and Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>India has set a defence export target of \u20b935,000 crore by 2024-25. The BrahMos supersonic cruise missile has a two-stage solid propellant booster engine as its first stage which takes it to supersonic speed. The second stage is the liquid ramjet engine which takes it closer to Mach 3 (3 times the speed of sound) speed in the cruise phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Fin_Min_notifies_FEMA_tweaks_to_pave_the_way_for_new_FDI_limits_in_the_space_sector\"><\/span>Fin Min notifies FEMA tweaks to pave the way for new FDI limits in the space sector<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The finance ministry notified amendments to the Foreign Exchange Management (Non-debt Instruments) Rules, 2019 to operationalise the new foreign direct investment limits for satellite-related activities. Up to 100% FDI is now allowed under the automatic route for manufacturing of components and systems or sub-systems for satellites, ground segments and user segments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to 74% FDI is now permitted under the automatic route for satellite manufacturing and operation, satellite data products and Ground Segment and User Segment. FDI of over 74% in these activities will require the government&#8217;s approval.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to 49% will be permitted under the automatic route for launch vehicles and associated systems or sub-systems and the creation of spaceports for launching and receiving spacecraft.
