In addition, there are four Local Boards for the Northern, Southern, Eastern, and Western regions to look after regional interests. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Government appoints or nominates the directors of the Central Board and the members of the Local Boards according to the RBI Act. The composition of the Central Board is defined under Section 8(1) of the RBI Act, 1934.
