He was appointed the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 1995 and completed his term in 2004. After a gap of 10 years, he was again appointed the C.M. in June 2014 and is currently serving his term.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Pema Khandu- C.M. of Arunachal Pradesh<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A graduate from Hindu College under the Delhi University, Pema Khandu is a politician and currently the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh. He is also the youngest C.M. of an Indian state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Sarbanda Sonowal- C.M. of Assam<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Sarbanda Sonowal, the member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is the 14<sup>th<\/sup> C.M. of Assam. He is a representative of the Majuli Constituency in the state legislative assembly of Assam. Sonowal was also the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs under the NDA Govt. (National Democratic Alliance) led by Narendra Modi, from 2014-16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Nitish Kumar- C.M. of Bihar<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Senior Indian politician Nitish Kumar was elected the Chief Minister of Bihar in 2005 and has held on to the position since then. Over one lakh teachers were appointed in schools during his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Bhupesh Baghel- C.M. of Chhattisgarh<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Bhupesh Baghel, born in the year 1961, recently became the third C.M. of Chhattisgarh, after he ended the 15-year long regime of Raman Singh on December 17, 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>Jammu &amp; Kashmir<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Mehbooba Mufti was elected the Chief Minister of Jammu &amp; Kashmir in April 2016. She resigned as the C.M. in June 2018. Currently, the state has <strong>no C.M.<\/strong> and is run under the rule of the Governor of India.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong>Manohar Parrikar- C.M. of Goa<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Manohar Gopalkrishna Prabhu Parrikar is a leader of the BJP and has been serving as the C.M. of Goa since 14<sup>th<\/sup> March 2017. He is a former member of the Rajya Sabha from the state of Uttar Pradesh but resigned to become the C.M. of Goa.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong>Vijaybhai R. Rupani- C.M. of Gujarat<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The current Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijaybhai R. Rupani is a representative of the Rajkot West Assembly Constituency in the state legislative assembly of Gujarat. Additionally, Rupani is the only Gujarat Cabinet Minister to be arrested during the emergency period.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong>Manohar Lal Khattar- C.M. of Haryana<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Manohar Lal Khattar, currently appointed as the Chief Minister of Haryana, is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. His political career began in 1977 when he joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the age of 24.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><strong>Jai Ram Thakur- C.M. of Himachal Pradesh<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Jai Ram Thakur became a legislative party leader of the BJP in December 2017, after he defeated Prem Kumar Dhumal (former C.M. of Himachal Pradesh). On 27<sup>th<\/sup> December 2017, Thakur became the 13<sup>th<\/sup> Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"11\">\n<li><strong>Raghubar Das- C.M. of Jharkhand<\/strong><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Raghubar Das is the only non-tribal C.M. appointed in the 14-year long history of Jharkhand. He is the 10<sup>th<\/sup> C.M. of the state and took his oath in December 2014.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"12\">\n<li><strong> D. Kumaraswamy- C.M. of Karnataka<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>D. Kumaraswamy is serving as the current Chief Minister of Karnataka. He was appointed to the Karnataka Assembly from Ramanagara and Channapatna Assembly Constituency. Not many people know that Kumaraswamy is the son of H. D. Deve Gowda, the former Indian Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"13\">\n<li><strong>Pinarayi Vijayan- C.M. of Kerala<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Pinarayi Vijayan currently holds the position of C.M. in Kerala. He took his oath on 25<sup>th<\/sup> May 2016 and is the 12<sup>th<\/sup> C.M. of the state. Pinarayi was also elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly in 1996, 1991, 1977, and 1970.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"14\">\n<li><strong>Kamal Nath- C.M. of Madhya Pradesh<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Kamal Nath was born in 1946, in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh). He took his oath in December 2018, after being elected the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. Kamal Nath took over Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the Assembly Elections of 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"15\">\n<li><strong>Devendra Fadnavis- C.M. of Maharashtra<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Devendra Fadnavis is the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He became the second youngest C.M. of the state at 44 years of age. Fadnavis also received the Best Parliamentarian Award in 2002-03 by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"16\">\n<li><strong> Biren Singh- C.M. of Manipur<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Born on 1<sup>st<\/sup> January 1961, Nongthombam Biren Singh is the current C.M. of Manipur. He took his oath on March 15, 2017. Very few people know that before joining politics, he was a journalist and a footballer.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"17\">\n<li><strong>Conrad Kongkal Sangma- C.M. of Meghalaya<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Conrad Kongkal Sangma was elected the C.M. of Meghalaya in March 2018. He presented his very first budget only within 10 days of being appointed the Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"18\">\n<li><strong>Pu Zoramthanga- C.M. of Mizoram<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The current C.M. of Mizoram, Pu Zoramthanga is also the leader of the Mizo National Front. He had served as the state\u2019s Chief Minister earlier, for two consecutive terms (1998-2008). In December 2018, Zoramthanga again came to the position of C.M. after defeating Pu Lalthanhawla. He took his oath under the Governor K. Rajasekharan of Mizoram during a ceremony at the Raj Bhawan, in Aizawl.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"19\">\n<li><strong>Neiphiu Rio- C.M. of Nagalan<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The current Chief Minister of Nagaland is Neiphiu Rio. He had earlier served this position for three consecutive terms (2003-2008, 2008-2013, and 2013-2018). Neiphiu was also elected to Nagaland Assembly in 1989, as a candidate of the Indian National Congress Party from Northern Angami-II Constituency.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"20\">\n<li><strong>Naveen Patnaik- C.M. of Odisha<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Naveen Patnaik is the current C.M. of the Odisha state. He is the 14<sup>th<\/sup> Chief Minister of the state, and also the founder of BJD or Biju Janata Dal. Recently, the United Nations honoured Patnaik for successfully evacuating over a million people ahead of the cyclone Phailin that struck the coasts of Odisha, in October 2013.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"21\">\n<li><strong>Amarinder Singh- C.M. of Punjab<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Capt. Amarinder Singh, an Indian politician, is currently serving as the 26<sup>th<\/sup> C.M. of Punjab. He is an elected member of the Legislative Assembly from Patiala and the former President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"22\">\n<li><strong>Ashok Gehlot- C.M. of Rajasthan<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Indian politician Ashok Gehlot is serving his third term as the C.M. of Rajasthan currently. He was the national general secretary of the Indian National Congress Party and was in charge of training and organizations from March 2018 to January 2019. Gehlot had served as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan before, from 1998-2003, and again from 2008-2013.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"23\">\n<li><strong>Pawan Kumar Chamling- C.M. of Sikkim<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Born in 1950, Pawan Kumar Chamling has been involved in politics since 1973. He was appointed as a Sikkim Legislative Assembly member in 1985, and currently the fifth Chief Minister of Sikkim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"24\">\n<li><strong>Thiru Edappadi K. Palaniswami- Current Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Palaniswami was appointed the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in February 2017. The name of the party of this Indian politician is All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"25\">\n<li><strong> Chandrashekhar Rao- C.M. of Telangana<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Kalvakuntla Chandrashekhar Rao is the current and the first C.M. of the newly formed state Telangana. He has been serving the position since 2014. Rao is also the founder and leader of the Indian regional party, Telangana Rashtra Samiti.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"26\">\n<li><strong>Biplab Kumar Deb- C.M. of Tripura<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Currently, the Chief Minister of Tripura is Biplab Kumar Deb. After being appointed the 10<sup>th<\/sup> C.M. of the state, he took his oath on 9<sup>th<\/sup> March 2018. Biplab Kumar Deb has also been the state President of BJP in Tripura since January 7, 2016.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"27\">\n<li><strong>Yogi Adityanath- C.M. of Uttar Pradesh<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>A Hindu nationalist politician and an Indian monk, Yogi Adityanath is the current C.M. of Uttar Pradesh. He was appointed to the post in March 2017, after BJP won the State Assembly Elections the same year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"28\">\n<li><strong>Trivendra Singh Rawat- C.M. of Uttarakhand<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Trivendra Singh Rawat is the current and the eighth C.M. of Uttarakhand. He is a former member of the RSS (1979-2002) and held on to the position of Organizing Secretary of the Uttarakhand region. Later, after the formation of the state in 2000, he became the Organizing Secretary of Uttarakhand.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"29\">\n<li><strong>Mamata Banerjee- C.M. of West Bengal<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Mamata Banerjee is currently serving as the eighth Chief Minister of West Bengal. She is the first woman to hold the C.M.\u2019s office in the state, and the only woman Chief Minister to win two consecutive terms.
