Read the success story of Shishu Ranjan Kumar, history graduate, who never let the failures define his success and went on to clear IBPS CLERK in 2018 after failing for 9 times. Ranjan took every failure in his path as a stepping stone towards his goal and gave wings to his dreams after 3 years of continuous hard work.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Here is his inspiring story:<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Hello Everyone, I am S.Ranjan Kumar from Patna. I have cleared IBPS CLERK\u00a0 2018<\/strong> and got selected in Bank of Baroda. I started my banking preparation from April 2015. In 2015, prelims was introduced in banking exams. After that I appeared for many examinations. Some details about the same are given below.<\/span><\/p>\n

1-<\/strong> IBPS CLERK 2015<\/strong>: Prelims cleared but in Mains got 139 & cut off was 144 for General.<\/span><\/p>\n

2-<\/strong> RRB CLERK 2016<\/strong>: Prelims cleared but in Mains got 137 and cut off was 139.<\/span><\/p>\n

3-<\/strong> RRB PO 2016<\/strong>: Prelims cleared got 117 in mains cut off was 97 but was unlucky as UBGB gramin bank cancelled all 300 vacancies and after interview missed in merit list by 0.4.<\/span><\/p>\n

4-<\/strong> IBPS PO 2016<\/strong>: Prelims cleared & gave Mains. This was the time when new pattern questions were introduced in IBPS PO Mains. Got 69 & cutoff was 52 but again luck didn\u2019t favour in maths & I couldn\u2019t clear the individual cut off.<\/span><\/p>\n

5-<\/strong> IBPS PO 2<\/strong>0<\/strong>17<\/strong>: Cleared Prelims but Failed in Mains<\/span><\/p>\n

6-<\/strong> SBI PO 2<\/strong>0<\/strong>17<\/strong>: Cleared Prelims but Failed in Mains<\/span><\/p>\n

7-<\/strong> SBI CLERK 2018<\/strong>: Prelims I got 88 and in Mains 88. Missed mains by 3 marks from Chhattisgarh state.<\/span><\/p>\n

8-<\/strong> BOB PO PGDF<\/strong>: Cleared written & gave interview but again couldn\u2019t get place in merit list.<\/span><\/p>\n

9-<\/strong> RRB CLERK 2018<\/strong>: In reserve list from UP just by 0.16<\/span><\/p>\n

10-<\/strong> IBPS CLERK 2018<\/strong>: Cleared prelims and also cleared mains. Got 118.05 and selected in Bank of Baroda.<\/span><\/p>\n

11-<\/strong> Got selected as CLERK in Bihar State Cooperative Bank.<\/span><\/p>\n

12-<\/strong> Cleared Bihar State Cooperative Bank Assistant manager: After interview final result is awaited.<\/span><\/p>\n

After failing in so many exams, I was totally broken. I have no other option but to stay calm and prepare with complete dedication and devotion. Finally my hard work showed colors and I cleared IBPS CLERK in 2018<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Initially, I was totally broken and frustrated due to my constant failures but I never left hope. I was sure my time will also come. So guys never give up. It may take time but remember that hard work always pays.<\/span><\/p>\n

In starting I had no idea how to prepare for bank exams. So I joined a bank coaching in Patna. Soon I had some idea about devising my preparation strategy for banking exams.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

1-<\/strong> Quants<\/strong>:- I was very weak in this section as I was a student of Arts. Being a History graduate, I knew I had to pay extra attention to this section in order to clear the exams. First I worked on basics from R.S Aggarwal book. I also solved previous paper questions from various sources. <\/span><\/p>\n

But math remained my weak area. I did not know what was going wrong with my preparation and then one of my teachers advised\u00a0 me to take Oliveboard mock tests<\/strong>. I gave a lot of mock tests<\/strong> in Oliveboard<\/strong>. To be honest the type of questions provided by them are similar to the questions asked in the real exams. After solving questions from Oliveboard mock tests<\/strong> my maths improved immensely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

2-<\/strong> English<\/strong>:- I was a student of Bihar Board and comparatively my English was not good. But I was good at grammar. But again only knowing the rules of grammar was not going to help. On suggestion of my brother, I started reading newspapers like The Hindu, Indian Express, Dawn, Hindustan times and many more. In this way my english improved.<\/span><\/p>\n

3-<\/strong> General Awareness<\/strong>:- I was very good at G.A. In G.A you need to practice more and more questions to score well. I attempted as many G.A. quizzes as I could from various different websites. For current affairs I completely relied upon Oliveboard Bolt<\/strong><\/a> and I must say that it never let me down.<\/span><\/p>\n

4<\/strong>\u00a0– Reasoning<\/strong>: In this section, I practiced more and more puzzles & seating arrangement questions from Oliveboard mock tests<\/strong>. I want to suggest that in reasoning focus more on puzzles and seating arrangements because in prelims and mains exam papers are flooded with those questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

These were few of my strategies to score well in the examinations. One thing that I want to advise to everyone is to give online tests regularly. It is mandatory if you want a place in this cut throat competition. Moreover merely giving online tests is not sufficient. We have to choose those tests which are like actual exam papers. Thus I would suggest Oliveboard mock tests<\/strong> to all my fellow aspirants.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am sure my success story will help you in some way. Remember never let failure define your success. Take them just as stepping stones and learn something from each of them.<\/span><\/p>\n
