India and Japan to Hold Joint Military Exercise<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

India and Japan will be conducting a joint military exercise starting from 19th October 2019. This joint military exercise will be named ‘Dharma Guardian’.<\/p>\n

The exercise is set to take place in Jungle Warfare School, Mizoram<\/p>\n

The focus of this exercise will be to Counter Terrorism ops in jungle and Urban Scenario.<\/p>\n

Indian Army and Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces (JGSDF) contingents comprising 25 soldiers each will participate in the exercise.<\/p>\n

Ethiopian PM Abiy Ahmed wins Nobel Peace prize 2019<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Ethiopian PM won the Nobel Peace prize 2019 for his peacemaking efforts with Eritrea.<\/p>\n

Abiy Ahmed after coming to power in April 2018, the biggest step that he took was to end 20- year long military stalemate with Eritrea, following their war in 1998-2000.<\/p>\n

Abiy has also pushed through reforms at home, dramatically changing the atmosphere in what was regarded as a repressive state.<\/p>\n

India and ADB joins hands to improve road connectivity in Rajasthan<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

India signed a loan agreement from Asian Development Bank for $190 million to improve the road connectivity in Rajasthan.<\/p>\n

The government has planned to improve 754 km of State Highways which will benefit about 26 million people from 14 districts.<\/p>\n

ADB was established in 1996 and is headquartered in Manila, Philippines.<\/p>\n

Japan has the highest share in ADB.<\/p>\n

RBI approves the merger of District Co-operative banks in Kerala<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

RBI in their latest statement approved the merger of District Co-operative banks and combinedly they will be called ‘Kerala Bank’.<\/p>\n

A total of 13 District Co-operative banks will be merged with the Kerala State Co-operative Bank.<\/p>\n

Minister for Cooperation Kadakampally Surendran conveyed the agreement on the implementation of the procedures within the predetermined time frame.<\/p>\n

The conditions put forward by RBI has to be met by all the banks before 31 march 2020.<\/p>\n

Andhra Pradesh CM launches vision improvement scheme<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Andhra Pradesh CM launched ‘YSR Kanti Velugu’ programme.<\/p>\n

The program is launched with the initiative to screen the school children both in public and private schools for vision defects and providing treatments free of cost.<\/p>\n

The program would be taken up in 2 phases and will be completed by the end of the year 2020. It would be then extended to the general public.<\/p>\n
