Agriculture Gross Value Added (GVA)<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As per the estimates of National Income released by Central Statistics Office (CSO), Ministry of Statistics &amp; Programme Implementation, the agriculture, and allied sectors contributed approximately <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">16.0% of India\u2019s GVA<\/span><\/strong> at current prices during 2018-19.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Unified Package Insurance Scheme (UPIS)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unified Package Insurance Scheme has also been approved for implementation in selected <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">45 districts<\/span><\/strong> on a pilot basis from <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Kharif 2016<\/span><\/strong> to provide financial protection &amp; comprehensive risk coverage of crops, assets, life, and student safety to farmers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Pilot includes seven sections viz., crop Insurance (PMFBY\/ WBCIS), Loss of Life (PMJJBY), Accidental Death &amp; Disability (PMSBY), Student Safety, Household, Agriculture implements &amp; Tractor<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Capital Formation in Agriculture and Allied Sectors<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Gross Capital Formation (GCF) in agriculture and allied sectors relative to GVA in this sector has been showing a fluctuating trend from<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> 17.7 percent<\/span><\/strong> in <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2013-14<\/span><\/strong> to <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>15.2 percent<\/strong><\/span> in <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2017-18<\/span><\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/nabard-grade-a-b\/?ref=tsh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">Click Here To Read More<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms Scheme (ATMA Scheme)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Scheme \u2018Support to State Extension Programmes for Extension Reforms (ATMA)\u2019 implemented <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>since 2005<\/strong><\/span> has now been included as a Centrally Sponsored component of the SubMission on Agriculture Extension (SMAE) under <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Green Revolution \u2013 Krishonnati Yojana<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is now under implementation in <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">676 districts<\/span><\/strong> of <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>29 States &amp; 2 UTs<\/strong><\/span> of the country.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Scheme promotes decentralized farmer-driven and farmer accountable extension system through an institutional arrangement for technology dissemination in the form of an Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) at the district level. <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/nabard-grade-a-b\/?ref=tsh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Click here to Attempt Qs on ATMA<\/strong><\/em><em><strong>\u00a0Scheme<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">An amount of<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong> Rs. 427.58<\/strong><\/span> crore has been released to the States up to 31st December 2018 for implementation of the Scheme.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Physical Performance of the Scheme since its inception is as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>134702 Farm Schools<\/strong><\/span> have been organized in the fields of outstanding farmers.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Over <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">260294 Commodity based Farmer Interest Groups (CIGs)\/ FIGs<\/span><\/strong> have so far been mobilized under the Scheme.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">15627 CIGs\/ FIGs<\/span><\/strong> organized<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Want to Attempt Expected Qs from the Annual Report?<\/em><\/span><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/nabard-grade-a-b\/?ref=tsh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Click Here<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>5. Establishment of the AgriClinics and Agri-Business Centres (AC&amp;ABC)<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The AC&amp;ABC Scheme is under implementation since April 2002.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Scheme aims at creating gainful self-employment opportunities to unemployed agricultural graduates agricultural diploma holders and intermediate in agriculture apart from science graduates with post-graduation in agriculture-related courses for supporting agriculture development and supplementing the efforts of public extension.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">MANAGE<\/span><\/strong> is the implementing agency for training component under the Scheme through a network of identified <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Nodal Training<\/strong> Institutes (NTIs)<\/span> in various states.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. Extension Education Institute (EEI)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>EEI set up at Jorhat (Assam) in 1987<\/strong> <\/span>has been providing training support at the regional level to the middle-level field functionaries of in 8 States of North Eastern Region and West Bengal.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. National e-Governance Plan\u2013 Agriculture (Centrally Sponsored Scheme) (NeGPA)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Department is implementing the National e-Governance Plan \u2013 Agriculture (NeGP-A).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Its aim is to achieve rapid development in India through the use of Information &amp; Communication Technology (ICT) for timely access to agriculture-related information for the farmers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">National e-Governance Plan in Agriculture (NeGPA) was initially launched in seven selected States namely, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra, in the last quarter of 2010-11.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This Scheme has subsequently extended in <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2nd Phase to cover all the States and 7 UTs from 2014-15.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em><strong>Toppers took the test and scored 40\/50<\/strong><\/em><\/span>. <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/nabard-grade-a-b\/?ref=tsh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Can you beat their score? Development of Mobile Apps<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Kisan Suvidha:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 It is an omnibus mobile app to help farmers by providing relevant information to them quickly. National Crop Insurance Programme (NCIP)<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ministry of Agriculture &amp; Farmers Welfare introduced a crop insurance scheme in 1985 and thereafter, brought improvements in the erstwhile scheme(s) from time to time based on the experience gained and views of the stakeholders, States, farming community, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Rs. 11426 crores<\/strong><\/span> have been\u00a0released by the Government of India during the last year <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">(2018-19)<\/span><\/strong> under various schemes for crop insurance.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>11. Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">This scheme\u00a0is being implemented in various States\/Union Territories of the country from <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Kharif 2016.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under PMFBY, a uniform maximum premium of <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>only<\/strong> 2%<\/span> of the sum insured is paid by farmers for all Kharif crops and <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">1.5%<\/span><\/strong> for all Rabi crops.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the case of annual commercial and horticultural crops, the maximum premium to be paid by farmers is only 5%.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">Provision of a <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12% interest<\/span> <\/strong>rate per annum to be paid by the Insurance Company to farmers for the delay in settlement claims beyond 10 days<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">State Government has to pay a\u00a0<strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">12% interest rate<\/span><\/strong> for the delay in the release of the State share of subsidy beyond three months of prescribed cut off date\/submission of requisition by Insurance Companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We hope the information on the Agricultural Ministry Annual Report shared here proves useful in your <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/nabard-grade-a-b\/?ref=tsh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">exam preparations<\/a><\/span><\/strong>.
