I am from Kolhapur Maharashtra. I pursued B.Sc. and M.Sc. in the \u2018Nanotechnology stream\u2019 from Shivaji University, Kolhapur in 2017. I have recently cleared the IBPS PO Exam in the first attempt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even after clearing the exam, I am finding it difficult to believe that I am an officer now. This cherishing moment is a product of patience, perseverance, consistency, hard as well as smart work and family support. Dreaming about something and achieving it is a process that differs from person to person. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As everyone has a dream, I also dreamt to become a government officer. Since my childhood, my parents wish that I should make a career in the Government sector. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, during my graduation days I thought of preparing for civil services exams but after some time due to time constraints and cutting edge competition I turned towards Bank Exams. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When I was pursuing the post-graduation degree, I joined a coaching class for Banking exams, but hardly attended a few lectures. Without any solid preparation, I appeared for two private bank clerical exams. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Karnataka bank ltd where I was on the waiting list and for Federal bank Ltd. I was not selected. So, after such results, I was demotivated and decided to join a private job. I joined one publishing house in Pune in August 2017 as a scientific writer. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Initially, I was very excited about that job as it was a well-known multinational company in the field of scientific journal publishing. After some days, I started to realize that this field is not <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">suitable for me and my skills are also not suited for this job. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, finally, I left the job in March 2019 and decided to fully prepare for Bank Exams. After coming to my hometown, I was determined to become an officer soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Rushikeshs_Journey_So_Far\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>2. Rushikesh&#8217;s Journey So Far<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I started from basics but I did not join any offline classes. I searched for various <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCRvrHAyNdOMI_JBkE2pjZtw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube channels<\/a><\/span><\/strong> for Bank preparation and started preparing by watching videos. And side by side, I was giving sectional mock tests on the studied topics. So for my final selection, I needed above 70 marks in my interview and I was not sure whether I would get those marks. Fortunately, I got above 70 marks in the interview and the final score increased to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">41.25 (OBC cutoff was 40.25).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_His_Section-wise_Preparation_Strategy\"><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. His Section-wise Preparation Strategy<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3.1 Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0I cleared basic concepts of various topics through <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/channel\/UCRvrHAyNdOMI_JBkE2pjZtw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">YouTube videos<\/a><\/span><\/strong> and simultaneously I attempted sectional mock-tests given by various sources.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the days passed my reasoning speed and accuracy increased. But for the <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">puzzle section<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, it took me some more time. So, I tried to solve puzzles by using the stopwatch and according <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to that, I did improvements.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Register Here For High-Level Reasoning Tests<\/a><\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3.2 Quant Section Preparation Strategy<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My concepts were not cleared so I started from some basic arithmetic topics such as <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">percentage<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, ratio, and <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">proportion<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, average, etc. I tried to improve calculation speed but it took some time. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After 3-4 months my calculation speed increased and that <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">helped me to clear prelims. So, I used to practice daily some simplifications, <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">quadratic equations<\/a><\/span><\/strong>, number series, and short DI.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>3.3 English Section Preparation Strategy<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I started reading the newspaper (The Hindu) in January 2019. At that point, my news comprehension was very low. I just used to understand 40% of what I read. But I kept reading continuously and with time, my speed and comprehension got developed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By reading, vocabulary was also developed. I did not learn grammar separately because I was unable to recall grammar rules. My quantitative section was weak. So, I worked on it regularly. I decided to score a fair score, keeping in mind previous years&#8217; sectional cut-offs. My English and GA are strong subjects. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, I <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decided to do a lot of practice and revision of these two subjects to score more marks. I gave <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mock tests<\/a><\/span><\/strong> seriously (<strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Oliveboard Mock tests<\/a><\/span><\/strong> played a major role) and analyzed them diligently. I used to attempt daily, one main <strong><span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-po\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mock test<\/a>,<\/span><\/strong> and analyze the performance the next day. Side by side, daily newspaper reading, and general awareness study were continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_How_did_he_prepare_For_the_Interview\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>4. How did he prepare For the Interview?<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I watched various interviews of successful candidates on YouTube. I gave 4-5 mock interview in my town and worked on the weaknesses. My final interview was at Bank of Maharashtra HQ Pune. It was held for 7-8 minutes. I was praised for my attire and they complimented me for an officer like dressing. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They asked mainly about banking related terms and my bio-data.
