He gave many banking exams during this whole process but he stayed strong and learned from his failures. I am Pronab Banik. I have completed B.Sc. in physics honors from Calcutta University and M.Sc. in Physics from Jadavpur University in 2016. After one year of a dilemma like whether I should pursue a Ph.D. or not, I finally decided to prepare for Bank examinations whose process is faster compared to other recruitment processes. And from July 2017, I started my preparation, and finally now in 2021, I got success.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Now, about my preparation journey, I started my preparation from an offline coaching institute and got to know about the syllabus and some basic problem-solving tricks but it was not enough to clear exams. In 2017, I appeared for IBPS RRB PO\/Clerk, IBPS PO\/Clerk but did not even clear a single prelim though I knew I was just a learner at that time. Then in 2018 first cleared SBI clerk prelims, IBPS PO prelims, IBPS clerk prelims but could not clear a single mains exam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">Then I changed my preparation strategy and restarted from the basics like clearing concepts of quant especially arithmetic topics and attempting mocks tests. In 2019, I cleared every prelim except SBI PO &amp; RRB OA but only able to clear RRB PO MAINS &amp; IBPS PO MAINS and was a bit shy of the final cut-off like 0.82 marks in IBPS PO &amp; 3 marks in RRB PO. So, I could not make it to any of the final merit lists. Then the pandemic came and it hit me very badly due to the postponement of every exam. But somehow, I did continue my preparation and suddenly notifications came. I decided to give this the final shot and thereafter cleared every prelim in 2020 i.e. SBI Clerk, RBI Assistant, IBPS RRB PO, IBPS PO, SBI PO, IBPS Clerk except IBPS RRB OA! And this year, missed the SBI Clerk final selection by 1.75 marks, also appeared in all 3 PO exam interviews and got provisional allotment in IBPS RRB PO in BANGIYA GRAMIN VIKAS BANK of West Bengal but got out of SBI PO final list.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\">From 2016 I started private tuitions and continued to do so till now. I even appeared in various insurance exams as well and somehow every time missed the final list but did not go for any other exams like SSC, state PSC, etc.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/ibps-rrb-officer\/?ref=s-story\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Take Your First Free IBPS RRB PO Mock Test<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pronab_Banik_Subject-Wise_Preparation_Strategy\"><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Pronab Banik Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>Quant:<\/strong> In quant I believe, clearing concepts is the key because in prelims you might apply various tricks for a particular problem but in mains, you can only solve a problem if you have your concepts clear. So, for quant preparation, I followed Vivek sir of Oliveboard &amp; Sumit sir for clearing concepts and then practiced from various online mock tests.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>Reasoning:<\/strong> For reasoning, I would like to thank my teacher Hitesh sir who made it so easy that this section became my strongest of all. Also, Nikita ma&#8217;am of OB helped me in my preparation. And again after understanding the concepts I went for online mock tests for practice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>English:<\/strong> English was kind of average for me. So, just to go with the trend I read a lot of news articles online either on mobile or laptop. I believe that English in bank exams test your comprehension ability in the majority but there are some questions like error detection, phrase replacement, etc. for which I saw videos of Harshita ma&#8217;am of Oliveboard, as well as solved online, mocks tests &amp; quizzes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; color: #000000;\"><strong>General Awareness:<\/strong> Now this is the section where I felt a lot of trouble and I still think that only because of this section I failed to get selection all these years. So, I tried various approaches like reading capsules, monthly reviews, various video lectures but was never able to score well in this section. And it matters a lot because in PO there are 40 questions but in clerk exams, it is 50, so the section is more important for clerk exams than in PO. So, after trying all these so-called shortcut approaches I went for the conventional method i.e. writing everyday news using pen &amp; paper. What I feel is that their mock tests are best to prepare for bank exams because nearly every type of question paper is covered by them. I used to give prelims mock tests more but for mains, I just went for 2 to 3 mock tests per exam. Also, Oliveboard&#8217;s faculties helped me to continue my preparation at a continuous level. Vivek sir &amp; Nikita ma&#8217;am&#8217;s classes helped me a lot during my preparation.
