The notification is for 9534 posts, of which 9027&nbsp;posts have been allocated for Sub Inspector (SI) posts in the notification. The other posts are for Fire Officer and Platoon Commander.&nbsp;In this blog, we are going to have a look at <strong>UP SI Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"UP_SI_Eligibility\"><\/span><strong>UP SI Eligibility<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When a recruitment notification is released, it contains information on the eligibility criteria for applying for a post and various tests and examinations that the applicant has to appear for to qualify for a post. The board has set the eligibility criteria for the UP SI posts according to the UP SI job requirements. Through the recruitment process, it is required that the candidates who are finally selected for the post of UPSI are both mentally and physically strong and agile and have all qualifications necessary to successfully face the challenges and opportunities that the post of a UP SI comes with.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is important to know the&nbsp;<strong>UP SI eligibility&nbsp;<\/strong>criteria for applying for the posts and all the criteria associated with the different stages of the recruitment. &nbsp;There are several stages associated with the recruitment process. They are as follows:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Written Exam&nbsp;<\/li><li>Physical Standard Test (PST) and Document Verification&nbsp;<\/li><li>Physical Efficiency Test (PET)&nbsp;<\/li><li>Medical Examination and Interview<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The candidate must know the criteria for eligibility for each of the several stages involved in UP SI Recruitment. &nbsp;This is very important because you must meet the eligibility criteria required for each stage; otherwise, all the effort you put into the previous stages will be a waste of time and effort, which could have been better spent finding other jobs. &nbsp;For example, if you do not meet the height criteria, you should not apply for this UP SI Recruitment. They are the educational qualifications for sitting for the written examination, age limit, physical standard eligibility, physical ability, and typing speed. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following is a description of what eligibility is required in each stage of the recruitment process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"UP_SI_Eligibility_Criteria-_Age_Limit\"><\/span><strong>UP SI Eligibility<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Criteria- Age Limit<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The foremost eligibility criteria for applying for the post of UP SI is age.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Minimum Age Limit &#8211; &nbsp;21 Years<\/li><li>Maximum Age limit &#8211; 28 Years<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case of direct recruitment, the candidate must be a minimum of 21 years of age and not more than 28 years of age as of the first day of July of the calendar year of the release of the notification for the UP SI posts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Age Relaxation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>There are various relaxations on the upper age limit of 28 years for applicants who belong to the SC, ST category, and other categories specified in Government rules.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>UP SI Nationality and Educational Qualifications<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Requirements of nationality and minimum educational qualification for the post of UP SI are displayed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Nationality<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Education Qualification<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Citizen of IndianTibetan refugees who had migrated to India before 1st January 1962 and is a person in whose favour the State Government has issued a certificate of eligibilityIndian origin person who has come to India from Pakistan \/ Myanmar \/ Sri Lanka \/ Kenya \/ Uganda \/ United Republic of Tanzania with the intent to permanently settle in India and is a person in whose favour the State Government has issued a certificate of eligibility<\/td><td>Have a graduation degree in any stream from a UGC recognized Institute \/ UniversityHindi Typing Speed of 25 Words Per Minute (WPM)English Typing 30 Words Per Minute (WPM)O Level Exam Passed<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Preferential_Qualifications\"><\/span><strong>Preferential Qualifications<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Other than the minimum qualifications, there are also some preferential qualifications that the candidates must look into: &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one of the following qualifications:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(i) has a minimum of two years of service with the Territorial Army<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(ii) has completed a &#8216;B&#8217; certificate of National Cadet Corps (NCC)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(iii) has completed a certificate course in computer application from a State Government or Central Government recognised institute.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(iv) has a Law Graduation degree from a State Government or Central Government recognized Law Institute or university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These above-mentioned preferential qualifications will be of importance when two or more candidates have the same score. The person holding any one or more of these qualifications will be given preference. It does not in any way affect the merit list or the final result. The candidate only needs to clear this test to move to the next stage in the recruitment process. The candidate should not have any physical defects that can hinder the way of doing the duty for which the candidate has been appointed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make sure that the candidate is in good health, several tests are conducted by the UP Police board, and the Medical Board examines the candidate.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Medical Board mainly checks candidates for any physical irregularities. For example, some of the tests conducted are vertigo test, Webber&#8217;s test (hearing), Rinne&#8217;s test (hearing), eye test for near vision and distant vision, eye test for colour blindness, test for varicose veins, flat feet, bow legs, and knock knees. Doctors examine the candidates on the basis of the Medical Manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a list of what the doctors and the Medical Board will look into while conducting a medical examination for clearing a candidate for the next stage of the recruitment process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Blood pressure<\/li><li>Blood test ( every variant)<\/li><li>Urine test<\/li><li>Chest x-ray<\/li><li>Drug screening<\/li><li>Electrocardiogram<\/li><li>Eye test ( sight color blindness)<\/li><li>EyeSight- Without glasses (both eyes) Minimum distant vision of 6\/6 and 6\/9. The candidate should have no squint.<\/li><li>Legs and hands for any major problems (feet should be bare when they are checked).<\/li><li>Hearing test for ear<\/li><li>Knock knee test<\/li><li>Tooth test<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons aligncenter is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link has-vivid-cyan-blue-background-color has-background\" href=\"https:\/\/www.oliveboard.in\/up-police-sub-inspector\/?ref=contentTM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Prepare for UP SI Exam with Free Test Now<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"UP_SI_Eligibility_Criteria_%E2%80%93_Additional_Factors\"><\/span><strong>UP SI&nbsp;Eligibility<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;Criteria \u2013 Additional Factors<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are two additional eligibility criteria for a candidate applying for UP SI: Marital Status and Character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Marital Status<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A male candidate with multiple partners (alive) is disqualified from applying.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case of a female candidate, who has a married partner who is already married, the female candidate will not qualify for the post of UP SI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a relaxation here: The Government may, in special cases, exempt a candidate from being bound by this rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Character<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In case a person has been dismissed by any of the following authorities, the person is not eligible for being appointed to a UP SI post.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>State Government<\/li><li>Union Government<\/li><li>Local Authority&nbsp;<\/li><li>Corporation Body owned by Union Government&nbsp;<\/li><li>Corporation Body owned by State Government&nbsp;<\/li><li>Corporation Body controlled by the Union Government<\/li><li>Corporation Body controlled by State Government<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, any person who has been convicted for an offence that has been proven to be of the nature of moral turpitude becomes ineligible for an appointment to the post of UP SI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While there are several eligibility criteria such as age, height, medical fitness that are not under a candidate&#8217;s control, he can work on other factors to qualify for UP SI Posts.
