Though you may have learnt a lot of words during your schooling, it never seems enough, as the <strong>English Vocabulary<\/strong> is huge and ever expanding.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Therefore, it is essential, especially as exam aspirants, to build and expand your <strong>English Vocabulary<\/strong>, as you never know when that new word you learnt can earn you a brownie point. So read! Read <em>newspapers, magazines, online articles, novels, comic books<\/em>, read anything and everything you can lay your hands on. Reading a variety of text exposes you to a variety of words. The words commonly used in newspapers are significantly different from the words used in novels. Therefore it is important that you read all kinds of text.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Establish a reading habit and stick to it. This will help you expand your vocabulary and at the same time help you gain knowledge.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Another important aspect of your vocabulary building exercise is <em>writing<\/em>! Writing helps you remember stuff better. It\u2019s a good idea to <strong>maintain a journal<\/strong> to write down the words you\u2019re learning, so that you can refer back to those whenever you need to. The words you have written will also provide you positive reinforcement and motivate you to learn more words.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Most people using Instant Messaging services tend to words in shortcuts. It\u2019s pocket-friendly and easy to carry around.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>3. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">S<\/span><u>et a goal<\/u>:<\/strong><\/span><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Set a goal of learning at least <strong>five new words a week<\/strong>.
