Chandragupta introduced an organized revenue system and divided the empire into four provinces. In 262 BC, eight years after his crowning, Asoka&#8217;s armies attacked and conquered Kalinga. The bloodbath during the war changed his life, and he started following Buddhism. Charaka, a great medical scientist, was part of Kanishka&#8217;s court and wrote the first scientific book on medicine in India called Charaka Samhita.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Satavahans:\u00a0<\/strong>Simuka, Pulomavi, Gautamiputra, and Satakarni were famous kings. He issued gold coins for the first time. His marriage alliance with Kshatriyas gave them social prestige as they were Vaishyas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Samudragupta (CE 335 \u2013 375):<\/strong>\u00a0Known as the &#8216;Napoleon of India&#8217; by historian Vincent.
