are complaints filed under the act?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A complaint under the Act can be filed by the consumer, a recognized consumer association, the Central or State Government, a legal heir, or even one or more consumers having the same interest. The law provides a clear procedure for filing complaints. The limitation period for filing a complaint is two years from the date of the cause of action. After the complaint is admitted, the opposite party is required to respond within 30 days, with a possible extension of 15 additional days.
