It includes everything under the sun. So let&#8217;s listen from the horse&#8217;s mouth himself. Let&#8217;s go on to read RBI Success Story &#8211; Pushkar Pahwa.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"RBI_Success_Story_%E2%80%93_Pushkar_Pahwa\"><\/span><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">RBI Success Story &#8211; Pushkar Pahwa<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>1. About RBI<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You should be <strong>well aware of the organization<\/strong> you are aspiring to work with. Therefore, read about the history, organizational structure, departments, functions, etc. of the RBI. The most reliable source for this would be the documents available on the website of RBI itself. I found particularly these <strong>two documents<\/strong> \u2013 i. RBI: Functions and Working &amp; ii. RBI Overview is very useful in this regard. You can find these on the RBI website.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>2. Finance &amp; Economics related issues<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You should be well aware of the current happenings in finance and the economy both in India and the world. Also, you should be aware of the recent trends and issues in the banking sector. For this, you will have to rely on two sources:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em>1. Newspapers:<\/em><\/strong> Follow 3-4 newspapers daily. I would suggest the <strong>economic times, business line,<\/strong> and economy\/ money section of <strong>livemint<\/strong>. You can use the Feedly app on your mobile phone for this purpose. Do not just read the articles but critically analyze them. Many of the time you will not understand the terminology\/jargon used. Google the same instantly. Do not focus much on facts. <strong>Make your own short notes<\/strong> of the issues and revise them before the interview.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><em>2. RBI Speeches:<\/em><\/strong> This section is frequently updated on RBI\u2019s website. For me, this was the bible of current issues for my interview preparation. These speeches are mostly delivered by Executive Directors, Dy. Governors and governors in lucid language are very informative. I would recommend you to go through the speeches of the past 4 months. That would give you a fair idea of the happenings in the financial sector in the recent past. Again, <strong>make short notes<\/strong> for revision before the interview.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio  is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper video-seo-youtube-embed-wrapper\"><div class=\"video-seo-youtube-player\" data-id=\"v5N1tW6_qoo\"><\/div><\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>3. Your present job (if you are a working professional)<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As per my knowledge, for most of the candidates, the interview is centred on their present job and the biodata. Since you are the best judge of what you are doing, I would leave it to you to prepare yourself for this part. However, I would suggest you <strong>be truthful<\/strong> and <strong>not try to fake<\/strong> anything as the panel can outsmart you very easily. This part could be both your strength as well as weakness depending on how to prepare for it.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>4. Your Biodata<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">You have to submit a biodata form before the interview in which you mention the academic details, your work experience, hobbies\/ interests, details of high academic or professional qualifications, particulars of prizes\/ medals\/ scholarships, etc, and your achievements in extra-curricular activities. Again, these things are individual-specific and you are the best judge to decide about its preparation. However, keep in mind that the panel sometimes asks very <strong>typical and unexpected questions related to your hobby or unique academic or professional qualifications. <\/strong>So, make sure you are well prepared for those things. Take your time before answering.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be confident all the time \u2013 Saying a confident \u2018No\/ I don\u2019t know is better than giving an under-confident\/the wrong answer.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Remember that no matter how much you prepare for the interview, there are high chances that the interview gets steered into unknown territory. So, make sure you are mentally ready for that scenario. The key in such a situation would be to retain your calm and confidently say \u2018I don\u2019t know.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Don\u2019t feel under-confident by seeing the biodata\/ profile of your fellow candidates. All of you have an equal chance to get selected.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dress neatly \u2013 preferably suit for boys and saree for girls. Do not try a new hairstyle\/ look before the interview. For example, being a bearded guy, I was very confused as to whether I should appear for the interview with a beard or clean-shaven (which is the norm). I decided to go with a beard as trying something new (clean-shaven) would have made me conscious and less confident. And I scored good marks in the interview.
