IBPS RRB Law Officer Notification 2026 Out with 46 Vacancies, Apply Now

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the IBPS RRB Notification 2026 under the Common Recruitment Process for RRBs XV (CRP RRBs XV) for recruitment to Officers Scale I, II and III and Office Assistants (Multipurpose). The Law Officer post is offered under Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager). Candidates with a recognised Law degree and the required professional experience can apply for the post. Online registration for CRP RRBs XV is open from 1 September to 21 September 2026. The IBPS RRB Law Officer 2026 recruitment process includes a Single Online Examination followed by a Common Interview. Unlike Officer Scale-I, candidates applying for Law Officer Scale-II do not have to appear for a Preliminary Examination. The Single Online Examination carries 240 questions for 200 marks and has a duration of 150 minutes.

IBPS RRB Law Officer Nationality 2026

 

A candidate must be:

  1. A citizen of India, or
  2. A subject of Nepal, or
  3. A subject of Bhutan, or
  4. A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1 January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from the specified countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to categories other than Indian citizens must fulfil the certificate-of-eligibility requirements specified by the Government of India. Candidates must also bear applicable bank transaction charges for online payment.

 

IBPS RRB Law Officer Selection Process 2026

 

The IBPS RRB Law Officer Selection Process 2026 consists of:

  • Single Online Examination → Common Interview → Provisional Allotment
  • Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers, including Law Officer, appear directly for the Single Online Examination. Candidates who qualify the examination and meet the required merit criteria are shortlisted for the Common Interview.
  • For Officers Scale-II and III, the marks obtained in the Single Online Examination are considered for shortlisting for the interview and final merit listing.

IBPS RRB Law Officer Negative Marking 2026

 

There is a penalty for incorrect answers in the objective examination. For every wrong answer, one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.
