LIC AAO Selection Process 2025

 

Only the scores obtained in the Main Examination and the Interview will be counted while preparing the final merit list. The preliminary exam is a qualifying stage, and its marks will not be added to the final result. The LIC AAO selection process is divided into three phases:

  • Phase 1: Preliminary Exam (Qualifying only)
  • Phase 2: Main Exam (Scoring and considered for final merit)
  • Phase 3: Interview/Personality Test (Scoring and considered for final merit)

LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2025

 

The LIC AAO Exam Pattern 2025 outlines the selection process for the Assistant Administrative Officer post, which includes three stages: prelims, Mains, and interview. LIC AAO Prelims Exam Pattern (Phase 1)

 

The preliminary exam is the first stage of the selection process. It is used to screen candidates for the main examination. Although qualifying in nature, you must clear this stage to proceed further. Check nuances of the LIC AAO Prelims Exam Pattern below:

  • The exam is conducted online.
  • Total duration is 60 minutes (1 hour), with 20 minutes allotted per section.
  • There are three sections: Reasoning Ability, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.

  • The English Language section is qualifying only.
  • Marks scored in the English section will not be considered for the merit list.

LIC AAO Mains Exam Pattern (Phase 2)

 

After clearing the prelims, candidates move on to the LIC AAO Mains Exam, which is the most crucial stage of the selection process. The mains exam is divided into two parts – an Objective Test (300 marks) and a Descriptive Test (25 marks).

  • The exam is held online and includes Objective + Descriptive papers.
  • Objective Paper carries 120 questions for 300 marks with separate timing for each section.
  • The Descriptive Paper (Letter & Essay / Legal Drafting for AAO Legal) carries 25 marks.
  • The Descriptive test is qualifying only and not counted in the final merit.
  • Candidates must score sectional and overall cut-offs in the objective test to qualify.
  • The questions are designed to test reasoning, awareness, financial knowledge, and professional expertise.

LIC AAO Interview Process (Phase 3)

 

The final stage of the LIC AAO selection process is the Interview/Personality Test. Candidates who qualify in the Mains exam are shortlisted for this round. The interview is conducted to assess the candidate's overall personality, communication skills, subject knowledge, and suitability for the Assistant Administrative Officer role.The interview carries 60 marks.

  • Candidates must secure the minimum qualifying marks decided by LIC to pass this stage.
  • The weightage of marks for preparing the final merit list is Mains (300 marks) + Interview (60 marks).
  • The Descriptive Paper in the Mains exam is qualifying in nature and its marks are not added to the final merit.
  • Only the marks obtained in the Mains Objective Test and the Interview are considered for the final selection of candidates as LIC AAO.
