About IIF Exam

The IIFT exam is a well-known test for getting into the MBA International Business program at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada. The exam is managed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the institute.

The IIFT 2024 exam won’t happen for the 2024-25 admissions. Instead, they’ll consider CAT 2023 scores for admissions, according to the institute’s announcement. Until last year, NTA used to organize the IIFT entrance exam online nationwide. But this year, the admission process has changed.

CAT 2023 is scheduled for November 26, 2023. It will happen in three shifts, and the results will likely be out by the third week of December 2023. After that, IIFT will begin the selection process.

The IIFT MBA 2024-25 admission form is out, and the deadline is December 6, 2023. To be considered for the selection process rounds in March-April 2024, candidates need to fill out the IIFT admission form for 2024.

What is IIF Exam?

The IIFT exam is a test you take to get into the MBA International Business program at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada. In 2023, they also started a program called MBA in Business Analytics in the Delhi campus, and to get in, you need to do well on the IIFT entrance exam.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts the IIFT exam for the institute. The NTA’s job is to run the exam and figure out the results. The institute itself is in charge of picking who gets admitted. The entrance test is like other MBA entrance exams in India and covers Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and General Awareness. The IIFT exam lasts for two hours. If you’re a foreign/NRI/PIO candidate, you can get in based on your GMAT score. But for the academic year 2024-25, they’re accepting CAT scores for students in the domestic candidate category.

IIFT 2024 Notification – Eligibility Criteria

Check the eligibility criteria for IIFT 2024 to ensure you meet the requirements for admission.

1. To apply for IIFT-MBA, you need a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent, with a duration of three years.
2. For General category students, a minimum aggregate score of 50% in graduation is required. For SC/ST/PwD category students, the minimum aggregate score is 45%.
3. If you’re in the final year of your bachelor’s degree and waiting for results, you can still apply. However, you must submit your final year degree by October 7, 2024.
4. Candidates with professional degrees equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree can also apply (and appear for CAT) for IIFT MBA admission.

IIFT 2024 Notification – Application Process

To apply for IIFT 2024, go to the institute’s website and fill out the online application form. General and OBC candidates need to pay INR 2,500, while SC/ST/PwD candidates pay INR 1,000. IIFT 2024 Notification – Exam Preparation

To get ready for the IIFT 2024 exam, create a plan. Give enough time to each topic in the syllabus. Begin by understanding the basic concepts of important subjects in each section. After covering the IIFT syllabus, practice with IIFT sample papers and tests. For Quantitative Aptitude, know the concepts and formulas well. Practice all types of questions. For Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and Verbal Ability, practice sample questions from start to finish of your IIFT exam preparation. Save General Awareness for later as it’s memory-based and easier to handle. Since admission is based on CAT 2023 score this year, focus on CAT preparation.

IIFT 2024 Notification – Admit Card

To get your IIFT admit card, go online and download it from the official IIFT-NTA website before the exam day. Follow these steps:

1. Visit iift.nta.nic.in.
2. Click on ‘IIFT 2024 admit card download.’
3. Enter your application number, date of birth, and security pin.
4. Click submit to download your IIFT 2024 admit card.

IIFT 2024 Notification – Exam Guidelines

On IIFT exam day, it happens in one session from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Follow these guidelines:

Dos:

1. Arrive at the IIFT exam center on time as specified in your admit card for identification and verification.
2. Bring two copies of your IIFT admit card printed on A4-size sheets.
3. Bring passport-sized photos (same as uploaded during application) for the attendance sheet.
4. Carry a valid photo ID like Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, College ID, Driving License, or PAN Card (both original and photocopy).
5. Bring a black or blue ballpoint pen for signing the attendance sheet and rough work.
6. Follow the COVID-19 protocols mentioned in the IIFT admit card.

Don’ts:

1. Don’t be late for the IIFT exam; entry won’t be allowed after 9:30 AM.
2. Don’t bring electronic items like calculators, digital watches, phones, iPads, or written materials.
3. Don’t bring food items or stationery.
4. Don’t wear any accessories or items containing metal.

IIFT 2024 Notification – Admission Process

For IIFT admission, candidates are selected based on their exam scores. Shortlisted candidates undergo a personality assessment with extempore and personal interviews.

1. Clearing Cut-offs: Candidates who meet the IIFT cut-offs (for the 2024 academic session, based on CAT 2023) move to the next stage.
2. Extempore and Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates face an Extempore round, speaking on a given topic related to general or business affairs. They have around 20 minutes to draft a 300-word essay.
3. Group Discussion (if conducted): In a group of 10-12, candidates discuss a given topic. It assesses initiative, effective communication, and presentation skills.
4. Personal Interview (PI): The final stage is the PI round, where a panel interviews the candidates.
5. Result Communication: The final admission decision is conveyed to candidates via email.
