RBI Grade B Exam Pattern
It is important to check the exam pattern of both the phases before you start solving RBI PYQs. Below we have provided the details of both Phase 1&2.
RBI Grade B Prelims Exam Pattern
The Phase I exam of RBI Grade B 2025 is an online objective test carrying 200 marks. It consists of four sections: General Awareness (80 marks), English Language (30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks), and Reasoning Ability (60 marks). The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes, and each incorrect answer will be marked with a negative marking of 0.25 marks.
Candidates must clear both sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for Phase II. The question papers for Phase I are available in Hindi and English, except for the English Language section, which is only in English. Each section has a separate time allocation, so candidates must manage their time effectively for each part.

RBI Grade B Mains Exam Pattern
The Exam Pattern of RBI Grade B Phase 2 consists of three papers: Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3. Check out some important highlights below:
- Papers 1 and 3 are a combination of both objective and descriptive questions, while Paper 2 is a completely descriptive paper.
- For both Papers I and III, there are 30 questions and 50 marks for Objective questions.
- For ESI & FM, the marks are 50 each for objective & descriptive papers but for English, the maximum marks are 100.
- In the descriptive sections of Papers I and III, candidates are required to attempt 4 questions: 2 questions of 15 marks each and 2 questions of 10 marks each. If more than 4 questions are attempted, only the first 4 will be evaluated.
- The objective questions may carry either 1 or 2 marks each.
