What is SSC JE Exam Pattern 2026?
The SSC JE Exam Pattern 2026 consists of Paper 1 and Paper 2, both conducted as objective-type Computer-Based Examinations (CBE). Paper 1 is qualifying in nature and is used to shortlist candidates for Paper 2, while the normalized marks obtained in Paper 2 are considered for final merit. The technical papers now cover Civil & Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science & IT, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Physics and Telecommunication, depending on the post and qualification.

Important Points:
- Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
- Candidates must select the appropriate technical subject while submitting the application form.
- Paper 1 carries 200 marks, while Paper 2 carries 300 marks.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer in Paper 1 and 1 mark for each incorrect answer in Paper 2.
- A scientific calculator is provided on the computer screen during the examination.
- Physical calculators, tables and other such aids are not allowed inside the examination lab.
- Paper 1 marks are used only for shortlisting candidates for Paper 2 and are not added to the final merit score.

SSC JE Paper 2 is an objective-type Computer-Based Examination (CBE) carrying 300 marks.
