The UIIC AO Exam Pattern 2026 has been revised as per the latest notification. The recruitment process now includes a Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Descriptive Test, and Interview. The Preliminary Examination is common for the eligible posts, while the Main Examination pattern differs for Generalist and Hindi Officer posts. Candidates should carefully understand the revised pattern, section-wise marks, number of questions, and time limits before beginning their preparation.

 

UIIC AO Selection Process and Exam Pattern 2026

 

The UIIC AO Selection Process 2026 consists of the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Descriptive Test, and Interview. Candidates must qualify the Preliminary Examination to appear for the Main Examination. The Descriptive Test is conducted along with the Main Examination as applicable to the post. For Generalist posts, the Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test are qualifying in nature and are not considered for final merit, while the Main Objective Examination and Interview are considered for final selection. For Hindi Officer posts, the Main Objective and Descriptive Tests are considered along with the Interview for final selection.

The UIIC AO Prelims Exam Pattern 2026 consists of three sections: English Language, Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude. The examination carries 100 marks and is conducted for 60 minutes, with a separate time limit of 20 minutes for each section. Candidates must qualify in each section as well as the overall cutoff to be shortlisted for the Main Examination.

The UIIC AO Generalist Main Exam Pattern 2026 has also been revised under the latest notification. The Main Objective Examination consists of five sections: English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness with special reference to the Financial Sector, and Computer Knowledge. The exam contains 200 questions carrying 250 marks, with a total duration of 150 minutes. Each section has a separate time limit.

For the Hindi Officer post, the Main Examination follows a separate pattern focusing on professional knowledge along with general aptitude and awareness sections. The exam consists of 150 questions carrying 200 marks, with a total duration of 120 minutes. The Professional Knowledge section carries the highest weightage of 100 marks.

UIIC AO Negative Marking 2026

 

The UIIC AO Exam 2026 follows a negative marking scheme in both the Preliminary and Main Objective Examinations. One-fourth (1/4th) of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. No marks are deducted for questions that are left unanswered. Candidates should therefore attempt questions carefully and avoid random guessing.

 

UIIC AO Descriptive Test 2026

 

The UIIC AO Descriptive Test 2026 is conducted after the objective examination and differs for Generalist and Hindi Officer candidates. For Generalists, the Descriptive Test carries 30 marks and has a duration of 30 minutes, consisting of English Letter Writing for 10 marks and Essay Writing for 20 marks. For Hindi Officers, the Descriptive Test carries 50 marks and has a duration of 60 minutes, comprising English Essay, Hindi Essay, Hindi Letter Writing, English-to-Hindi Translation, and Hindi-to-English Translation, with 10 marks assigned to each component.

UIIC AO Interview 2026

 

Candidates who qualify the required stages of the written examination will be shortlisted for the UIIC AO Interview 2026. The interview is conducted to assess candidates' overall suitability for the post, including their communication skills, professional knowledge, awareness, and personality. The Interview carries 25% weightage in the final selection, while the remaining 75% weightage is assigned to the relevant Main Examination performance.

UIIC AO Final Selection 2026

 

The UIIC AO Final Selection 2026 is based on the prescribed weightage of the Main Examination and Interview. For Generalist candidates, the Main Objective Examination carries 75% weightage and the Interview carries 25% weightage, while the Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test are not considered for final merit. For Hindi Officer candidates, the Main Examination, including the Objective and Descriptive components, carries 75% weightage and the Interview carries 25% weightage. Candidates must qualify the applicable stages and meet the required cutoffs to be considered for the final merit list.
