MoRD and MoA&FW initiated Krishi Sakhis training for Natural Farming promotion

In a collaborative effort, the Ministry of Rural Development and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare have jointly launched the training of Krishi Sakhis under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY–NRLM). The initiative aims to train and certify 50,000 Krishi Sakhis in Natural Farming practices through the National Centre for Organic and Natural Farming (NCONF). The training, spanning five days, incorporates modules crafted by NCONF and emphasizes the crucial role of Community Resource Persons in steering social and economic transformations in rural areas.

To facilitate the transfer of technology from labs to land, Ms. Smriti Sharan, Joint Secretary, Rural Livelihoods, stressed the pivotal role of Community Resource Persons (CRPs). These individuals play a key role in enabling small and marginal farmers to enhance productivity through Natural Farming. This joint effort by the ministries is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of creating “Samrudhhi villages” and empowering two crore Lakhpati Didis.
