RBI SO Eligibility: To apply for the RBI SO 2025 exam, candidates must meet certain eligibility conditions set by the Reserve Bank of India. These include educational qualifications, age limits, and nationality. The RBI SO Eligibility criteria vary slightly for different posts under RBI Grade A and RBI Grade B.

RBI SO Eligibility Educational Qualification

Candidates willing to apply for the 28 vacancies need to thoroughly go through the RBI SO Eligibility Educational Qualification given below:

Legal Officer in Grade ‘B’Bachelor’s Degree in Law with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD). Must be recognized by UGC and Bar Council of India.
Manager (Technical – Civil) in Grade ‘B’Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST, if vacancies reserved). Equivalent grade accepted.
Manager (Technical – Electrical) in Grade ‘B’Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electrical and Electronics Engineering with minimum 60% marks (55% for SC/ST, if vacancies reserved). Equivalent grade accepted.
Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) in Grade ‘A’One of the following: (i) Second Class Master’s in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English at bachelor’s level;
OR
(ii) Second Class Master’s in English with Hindi at bachelor’s level + PG Diploma in Translation;
OR
(iii) Second Class Master’s in Sanskrit/Eco/Commerce with English and Hindi at bachelor’s level + PG Diploma in Translation;

(iv) Master’s in both English & Hindi/Hindi Translation (one must be Second Class).
Assistant Manager (Protocol & Security) in Grade ‘A’No specific educational qualification mentioned. Selection based on Commissioned Service experience in Army/Navy/Air Force. Must hold a valid Ex-Serviceman Identity Card.

As per the RBI SO 2025 Notification, the nationality requirement includes the following:

Provided that a candidate belonging to any of the categories at (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination, but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate is issued to him/her by the Government of India.

Q1. What is the age limit for RBI SO Legal Officer in 2025?

Ans: The age limit for the Legal Officer in Grade ‘B’ post is 21 to 32 years as on 1st July 2025. Candidates with an LL.M. degree get 3 years of relaxation, and those with a Ph.D. in Law get 5 years. Additional relaxation is applicable as per government rules for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates.
