Akash Joon Preparation Journey 

I started preparing in June 2019 after completing my graduation. I started living in mukherjee nagar and started my coaching of mathematics and English.

I completed my coaching in 5 months and then I focused on practice . I covered GS , reasoning on my own . And I cleared my first exam SSC CPO 2019 in December 2019 and then I cleared CGL 2019 prelims in march and I scored 216 marks in Math mains of CGL 2019 and 190 marks in English mains of CGL 2019 but I got 33 marks in descriptive so I got rejected then I prepared for CGL 2020 and got selected as tax assistant in income tax Delhi but I was not satisfied so i again worked hard and finally I got ASO in CSS through CGL 2021 with all India rank 347.

Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy 

Firstly I completed my coaching so that I can learn theory and basics then I completely focused on practicing more and more.

Reasoning – I prepared reasoning on my own and I was confident that I could do it . I covered few chapters on youtube and rest was covered while practicing.

English – English is a tricky subject . You have to be very disciplined and dedicated so I focused on covering each part . I did vocabulary from many resources and kept revising grammar rules and I also practiced reading part from previous year questions and newspaper reading.

GK/GA – GK/GA is a very vast section and one cannot be very sure about it so I focused less and I covered main topics like current affairs and polity and I covered previous year questions through which I could score decent marks in this section.

Role of Oliveboard

Oliveboard was extremely important in this journey. Oliveboard live mocks were like a mirror which showed me where I stood and what my mistakes were . I was confused and stuck . I was not able to increase my score and then I started giving oliveboard mocks then it made me realize the importance of skipping questions and it helped me a lot to improve. Oliveboard mocks were exam oriented. And I also prepared by typing from the oliveboard . They provided the best interface for typing which helped me master the typing test.
