Success Story of Satvik Ranaday | Cleared JK Panchayat, PO & IBPS PO

Read the success story of Satvik, who has cleared four exams in the last one year. He made a proper timetable which he followed very strictly and he strongly suggests that one should do smart work along with hard work to clear any exam.

Inspiring Success Story of Satvik Ranaday

I am Satvik Ranaday hailing from the small town of Basohli, dist. Kathua, J&K. I did my graduation in 2016 and passed my masters in computer application (MCA) from Jammu University in 2019. I started my preparation in January 2020. I took no coaching and took the help of youtube and some books which many toppers recommended. I, along with my friend Shubam started preparing by making a proper timetable and following it strictly. I used to set daily goals and give my best to achieve them. In 2020 itself, I was able to clear SBI clerk prelims, IBPS clerk prelims, and RBI assistant prelims but was not able to clear mains in any of them (though I got into IBPS clerical waiting list). I saw YouTube videos of toppers and other successful candidates and made my strategy accordingly. After 4-5 failures I decided that along with hard work I need smart work too so I started giving more time to those areas where I used to score less marks in exams which eventually helped me in cracking IBPS PO, SBI PO (I cleared mains but was not able to get good marks in the interview), JK bank clerk and JK bank PO.

Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy of Satvik Rananday

I will start with prelims first.

Quantitative:- For the quant section, I saw that we get only 10 questions of arithmetic out of 35. My arithmetic was weak so I worked hard on simplification and approximation, number series, algebra, and DI. I saw YT videos of a few channels. I took the help of Oliveboard mock tests and gave sectional mock tests as well as full subject mock tests which helped me to increase my speed.

Reasoning:- For reasoning too, I followed YouTube videos of 2 particular channels that provide good questions and helped me clear my concepts in a short time. Again I gave mock tests after finishing each topic and focused more on puzzles as they carry the highest weightage.

English:– I didn’t read English because my basics are clear from my school time and I just gave mock tests from Oliveboard a few days before exams.

For Mains:-

Quant:- In the quant section, the highest weightage is of DI. On Youtube, you may find a few channels which provide the best content of DI preparation for mains and also for other quant topics. I only relied on that. Along with it, I solved previous year’s papers from the Disha publication book and gave mock tests from Oliveboard.

Reasoning:- For reasoning, I solved previous year’s papers from Disha publications and gave mocks tests from Oliveboard.

English:- For the English part, I just gave mock tests and nothing else.

Current Affairs:– For the GK portion, I used to read The Hindu newspaper daily and write down current affairs from it. Along with it, I used to download monthly banking current for the previous 4 months. The current reading is very important as almost 30-32 questions of GK come from it.

Interview:- Then for the interview, I saw some mock interviews on YT. Along with it, I went through videos of candidates who appeared for the interview and saw what type of questions are asked at the interview, and prepared myself accordingly. A week before the interview, I and my friend Shubam started giving mock interviews to each other and analyzed each other’s performances.

Oliveboard mock tests were of immense help. I fully relied on them to increase my speed and worked on my weak areas. At the end of every exam, it provides a detailed analysis of a person’s performance, his strengths as well as weaknesses. The quality of questions is very good and almost similar in difficulty level compared to exams.

Satvik Ranaday Tips To Aspirants

I suggest everyone preparing should make a proper timetable and follow it strictly. One should rely on smart work along with hard work. Consistency is also one important aspect. One shouldn’t take long breaks from studies as it breaks one’s momentum. It’s very important to go through the preparation strategy of toppers. One should analyze his weak areas and work on them too.

Best of luck!
