Bhopal Mahila Thana Gets ISO Certification

Bhopal Mahila Thana Gets ISO Certification

The Mahila Thana (women’s police station) in Bhopal has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first women-centric police station in the country to be awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certificate. This recognition highlights the station’s commitment to maintaining high standards of service and quality.

The achievement was celebrated in the presence of senior police officials, including the Commissioner of Police (CP) of Bhopal, Harinarayanachari Mishra, and Additional Commissioner of Police, Anurag Sharma, among others. It underlines the dedication to providing efficient and quality services in support of women’s safety and security.

Efforts Made by Bhopal Mahila Thana

Over the past three years, the Bhopal Mahila Thana has undergone significant transformations to enhance its infrastructure. This effort has culminated in it becoming the second ISO-certified police station in the city, following the Misrod police station’s achievement of this distinction.

Warehouse Transformation

One noteworthy change involved the conversion of a warehouse within the police station. The warehouse’s contents were properly processed and submitted to the court in accordance with established procedures. The entire area was subjected to a sanitation overhaul to ensure the safety and well-being of the police station staff during their work and daily operations.

Improved Facilities

Various measures were implemented to improve the facilities within the police station. This included providing separate rooms and computers for investigating officers and staff. Additionally, strategically placed CCTV cameras were installed to enhance security.

Victim-Friendly Approach

The Bhopal Mahila Thana adopted a “victim-friendly” approach. To create a welcoming environment for children, a dedicated play area, often referred to as a “swing house,” was established. Furthermore, the police station underwent the construction of more than five toilets and the creation of a feeding room for women. These changes reflect the station’s commitment to ensuring the well-being and comfort of those it serves.
