IIFT Exam Pattern- Overview, Important Dates, Pattern in Detail

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the IIFT entrance examination for MBA admissions in 2022. The Notification for the examination was released on 16^th August 2021, and the application process started on 2^nd September 2021. The last date for registration is 15^th October 2021 till 5:00 P.M. The IIFT 2022 examination will be conducted on 5^th December 2021. It will be a computer-based examination. The candidates can select 4 test cities according to their preference from the 68 test cities (examination centers) made available by the National Testing Agency. The IIFT examination consists of 4 sections:

• Quantitative Analysis 
• Reading Comprehension and Verbal Ability

Important Points

• The no. of sections in the examination question paper for 2022 have been reduced to 4 from 6.
• The  Reading comprehension and verbal Ability have now been clubbed together in a single section in the revised pattern of IIFT 2022.
• Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, too, are clubbed in a single section in the revised pattern of IIFT 2022.
• Candidates can attempt & compensate the Data Interpretation questions to Logical Reasoning questions in the revised exam pattern for IIFT 2022.
• The total No. of questions is reduced to110 in the revised IIFT 2022 examination pattern.
• IIFT 2022 pattern is expected to consist of 110 questions. IIFT exam pattern and syllabus also had 110 questions in 2021 & 2020. 

• IIFT question paper in 2018 and 2019 had 114 questions.
• IIFT question paper in 2017 had 123 questions, while the IIFT 2016 question paper had 124 multiple-choice questions. 

• The maximum marks in the IIFT test pattern are 300.
• Negative marking of 1/3^rd marks applies to every wrong answer and multiple answers to one question in the IIFT Exam Pattern 2022.
• IIFT 2022 examination timing is changed from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

• IIFT Entrance examination is now a computer-based test and not a paper-based exam.
• Each section has a different no. of questions
• IIFT examination is now conducted by NTA and not by IIFT
• A key feature of IIFT Exam Pattern 2022 is its varying sectional scoring scheme. VARC, Quant, DILR sections have the same scoring pattern, while GK has a different scoring pattern
• 4-5 RC Passages followed by 14-16 questions will appear in the revised IIFT exam pattern. Passages are of moderate difficulty level
• IIFT proposes to launch its new Kakinada campus with 60 seats in 2022.
