The ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ initiative, conceptualized by the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), aims to cultivate a sense of trust and confidence among consumers during their purchasing activities.

The scheme is strategically designed to raise awareness about the significance of obtaining authentic invoices for business-to-consumer transactions, thereby contributing to a more transparent economy.
This initiative functions as a Goods and Services Tax (GST) invoice incentive program, offering monetary rewards for the submission of invoices.
The scheme will initially be launched in specific regions, including Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, and the union territories of Puducherry, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

The primary objective of this scheme is to encourage customers to consistently request invoices whenever they make purchases, fostering a culture of financial responsibility and accountability.

How does the scheme work?

The ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ scheme extends its eligibility to all invoices issued by GST-registered suppliers to consumers.
Under this initiative, a combination of monthly and quarterly lotteries will be conducted, offering cash reward prizes ranging from ₹10,000 to an impressive ₹1 crore.
For an invoice to qualify for the lucky draw, it must have a minimum purchase value of ₹200.
Participants have the opportunity to upload a maximum of 25 invoices per month.
To facilitate ease of access and participation, the ‘Mera Bill Mera Adhikar’ mobile app will be made available on both IOS and Android platforms.
In order to be considered for the lottery, the invoice uploaded through the app should include essential details such as the seller’s GSTIN, invoice number, paid amount, and tax value.

This streamlined process ensures transparency and accuracy in the scheme’s implementation.
