One of the notable features of this event is the release of a comprehensive User Manual, tailored for various stakeholders, including Citizens, Field Functionaries, Supervisors, Sanctioning Officers, District Nodal Officers, and State Nodal Officers for the New PMMVY Portal (PMMVYsoft MIS).

The Aim of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana 2.0

The primary objective of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is to provide financial assistance to pregnant and lactating women. This support enables these women to take a break before and after giving birth, ultimately enhancing their health and the well-being of their children.

A Focus on Empowerment and Protection

India’s women and children make up a substantial portion of the population. Their empowerment, protection, and overall development are pivotal for the nation’s progress. The Ministry of Women and Child Development, under the guidance of the Prime Minister, is committed to advancing gender equality and children’s development through various policies and programs.

Promoting a Positive Outlook Toward Girl Children

PMMVY 2.0 is also dedicated to fostering a more positive attitude towards girl children. The scheme offers incentives for the birth of girl children, with a particular focus on those coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. Mothers receive a maternity benefit, and the program’s scope has been expanded to support the birth of a second girl child. This initiative aims to enhance the sex ratio at birth, discourage female foeticide, and increase women’s participation in the workforce.

Impressive Impact: Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana 2.0

Since its inception, the PMMVY program has positively impacted more than 3.11 Crore women, with a total disbursement exceeding 14,103 Crores. The new PMMVY Portal and Mobile App are engineered to ensure a technically sound and user-friendly experience, ensuring smooth fund transfers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

In conclusion, the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana is not merely a program; it’s a lifeline for numerous mothers and their children. The event in Mumbai is a testament to the government’s unwavering commitment to the well-being of women and children in India, with a strong emphasis on empowerment, protection, and development.
