Inspiring Success Story of Shivani

Hello, my name is Shivani. I am from the village Kishenpur, district Jammu. I’ve done my post-graduation at the University of Jammu. While in my last semester of post-graduation, I started preparing for the panchayat accounts assistant exam.

Well, after filling the form, I started my preparation in July. After downloading the syllabus and thoroughly going through it. My whole preparation was based on YouTube lectures and channels which came in handy as my background subjects were biology (medical) till college and not economy and accounts which covered 40 marks of the overall syllabus. I used to solve MCQs on every topic that I did each day to know whether I needed to go through the topic again or move on to the next. Solving MCQs from any source is what I emphasized upon. As I did not buy any ready-made or coaching material. My preparation was solely self-study, so I made short notes on each subject in a single notebook. And before the final exam, I revised the notebook multiple times, which made me go through the exam smoothly.

Shivani Subject-Wise Preparation Strategy

Accounts:- Starting with accounts, so much of my preparation was based on lectures by 2 of the Youtube channels, Triple S and wings Ek udaan. Their lectures on accountancy made my preparation easy.

General Knowledge:- Triple s through which I did my general knowledge of j&k part. Also, Vision’s book on UT of J&K was really helpful in knowing facts about Jammu and Kashmir. 

Economic: The economy was also done through these two channels and concept building through other videos available on youtube. 

Computer:- Computer from the book Arihant publications and one other channel which provided free MCQs series to test the knowledge. Then statistics from triple s. 

Science:- Science was more or less my subject. Didn’t need much preparation for it.

How Oliveboard Helped Shivani In Her Preparations?

After completing my syllabus. In the last one month, I took a mock test series from Oliveboard. It was 10 full mock tests and also some sectional tests. The level of the mock tests which Oliveboard provided was really good. It actually helped me know my weaknesses and accuracy in every subject. Their mock test review was great. Explanation to every question in every section did help a lot.

One thing that I learned was time management. Within the given 2-hour timeframe, one has to complete the test, making you comfortable in the final exam. The overall state rank was really an eye-opener which helped me practice more and improve my rank. And finally made me qualify for the exam.

Shivani’s Tips To Fellow Aspirants

First, complete the syllabus and then pay as much seriousness to mock tests. And after giving each mock test, see the mistakes you’ve done and analyze them. Note them separately and revise them again and again. Revision is the key. Try solving as many MCQs as you can from wherever you get.
