- Boxer Deepak won a silver medal while tennis player N Sriram Balaji won a Bronze medal at 7th Military World Games in Wuhan, China.
- Deepak won silver in the men’s light flyweight (46-49kg) category after losing to Zhussupov Temirtas of Kazakhstan.
- Balaji defeated Uzbekistan’s Fomin Sergey by 6-2, 6-3.
Wisden award winners
- Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and batswoman Smriti Mandhana won the prestigious Wisden Almanack Cricketer of the Year award.
Vijay Hazare Trophy
- Karnataka won the 2019-20 Vijay Hazare Trophy.
- Karnataka defeated Tamil Nadu by 9 wickets in the Vijay Hazare Trophy at Bangalore.
Chinese team kicked out of the Military Games
- A Chinese team has been disqualified from the ongoing Military World Games which the country is hosting after it was accused of extensive cheating.
- Chinese competitors received help from some local spectators.

- Simona Halep defeated Bianca Andreescu in the Purple Group match by 3-6, 7-6(6), 6-3.
