On August 11, the National Space Innovation Challenge (NSIC) 2023 was successfully launched by the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) of NITI Aayog in partnership with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Navars Edutech. This exciting initiative is open to all school students across the country.

About National Space Innovation Challenge (NSIC)

NSIC 2023 is a nationwide campaign aimed at inspiring the next generation of space enthusiasts to engage with and contribute to India’s burgeoning space economy and future space endeavors. Serving as a national platform, it offers the chance to be inspired by industry leaders, explore opportunities for exploration, and showcase innovative ideas on a global scale.

Aim of the Challenge

In line with the objective of promoting innovation and fostering curiosity among school students across the country, the Atal Innovation Mission is excited to introduce the National Space Innovation Challenge (NSIC) for all school students.

The challenge is designed to encourage young students to innovate, providing them with an early awareness of and involvement in the space sector. By participating, students not only gain insights into the world of space but also have the chance to create meaningful projects and innovations that can contribute to the sector’s advancement.

About National Space Innovation Challenge 2023

The National Space Innovation Challenge (NSIC) invites students from Classes 5 to 12 to engage in problem-solving within modern space technology.
The challenge will run from August 11 to September 20, 2023.
Both ATL (Atal Tinkering Labs) and Non-ATL schools’ students can participate by submitting their entries through the automated technology platform developed by Navars Edutech.

Participants are encouraged to choose a specific problem from the challenge themes based on their interests and understanding.
NSIC provides a comprehensive learning experience, including industry mentor videos, resources, and challenges tailored for Junior Scientists (Grades 5-8) and Senior Scientists (Grades 9-12).
- Participants can use these materials to generate ideas and create a short research report presenting solutions to a range of topics, such as designing a Space Junk Collection Robot, crafting a Reusable Rocket, creating Satellite Designs, devising an Indian Spaceship for Mars, and more.

Active participation from school teachers, ATL In-Charges, and mentors is highly encouraged for NSIC 2023. This unique challenge is designed for school students all over India and is in sync with the widespread enthusiasm generated by the successful launch of Chandrayaan III by ISRO.
