400 colleges, varsities receive 'One District One Green Champion' swachhata award

The Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) has released a list of 400 colleges who are receiving the 'One District One Green Champion' swachhata award for keeping clean campuses.Notable names in the list are NIT Silchar, St. Xavier's College of Management and Technology in Patna, ITM University Raipur, National Law University Delhi, IIT Gadhinagar.,etc.

Ambuja Cement Foundation, NABARD to skill rural youth in 10 states

Ambuja Cement Foundation has joined hands with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) for implementation of its employability through skill initiative project’s second phase.

The foundation received grant assistance from NABARD under the Gramya Vikas Nidhi, a fund created for the development of off-farm sector activities.

Late Harappan-era artefacts found at virgin site in Jalgaon

A Maharashtra archaeologist may have hit a jackpot by discovering several potteries and artefacts, dating back to the later era of the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC), at Yawal in Jalgaon district.

Discovery team led by Bhujang R. Bobade found the pottery pieces in the white mounds near the entrance of the Nimbalkar Fortress, around 20 km from Bhusaval.

Former Tamil Nadu Football Association president C. R. Viswanathan passes away

C.R. Viswanathan (CRV), a well-known football administrator in Tamil Nadu, passed away aged 85. CRV was the president of Tamil Nadu Football Association (TFA) and the vice-president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF). He was also the president of the Chennai District Football Association (1984-2009) and the Coimbatore District Football Association (1972-74).
